Uncle Jim’s Worm Farm

Uncle Jim’s Worm Farm European Nightcrawlers Composting and Fishing Worms 1 Lb Pack : Love them so far.

The worms were a little small as. The worms were a little small as described they would be but within the week i went to dig a few out and they were nice and fat. Great product and great shipping. I only wish i had read the whole packing slip and hadn’t spread them around the garden. Very satisfied with this product and this supplier.

Everyworm arrived wiggly and healthy. They’ve been digesting my garbage now for a few months, and i have to say, i prefer them to red wrigglers. They are hardier and eat faster.

This rocks i put it in my garden. I put it in my garden and planters and we got a few rain storms in calif. So now i know it’s soaking in the soil. I also got their worms and man my garden is growing so fast and so green. Can’t wait to see when summer starts and the blooms come.

I watched the videos on youtube and read the instructions on how to handle these worms and it paid off. These things are a couple weeks old and they are huge. I recommend watching the videos on how to care for these in addition to reading the instructions. I really am glad i bought these, they are a great hobby, cheap and easy bait for fishing and easy to care for.

  • They grow to be 3-8 inches long, and are 2 or 3 times bigger than their smaller cousins, the red wigglers (Eisenia Fotida).
  • The euros are certainly better for larger foods that aren’t as broken down, or for leaves and other tougher material that has not been pre-composted.
  • Can be successfully introduced to most garden environments. They are mid range dwellers and will till and aerate your soil for you, while supplying valuable castings.
  • This pack contains approximately 600 worms to a pound.

Received my worms in louisiana. Was concerned about the heat this time of year, but they were beautiful, fat, large, active, worms. Actively eating, no problems, i was really surprised at the health and quality, although i shouldn’t have been. With all the positive ratings on this seller. Thanks for such a quality shipment.

Great worms, fast shipping. . I have yet to find a dead worm. I have ordered 3 batches of these. The plants and trees are doing great with them. I tried a box of worms at the local nursery and they were micro worms. Uncle jim’s are good size and plentiful.

Came in a reasonable time and we’re all alive and well. Followed directions and by that afternoon they had all migrated into the bedding. It’s been about a week and they are getting big. I have them in a worm farm 360. Can’t wait to start adding trays.

What a bag of worms – in a good way. All of my worms arrived alive and intact. After following the provided instructions they became active and completely moved into their new bed within a couple days. Since then they have all fattened up and started to reproduce with the longest worm that i have seen measuring over 7 inches, where most of them are around 3 to 4 inches at this point.

They start small but given time they are giant catfish killers. Many negative reviews focus on the arrival size of the worms, so please read the vendor’s description & instructions closely prior to purchase in order to know what to expect. These worms are dehydrated for shipping, so they will arrive quite small, but full grown they will reach a size ever-so-slightly smaller than a canadian night crawler (european crawlers are the same as an alabama jumper if you experience with those). For those looking to save money on fishing bait, these worms will be of fishable size in a couple of weeks, and can eventually provide a self-sustaining population through reproduction. If you plan to start using these worms for bait in less than 5 weeks, i recommend purchasing the 2-lb package in order to prevent fishing out your base population before they have adequate chance to begin the reproductive cycle. Overall, these european crawlers have proven to be a much better value than trying to purchase canadian crawlers or red wigglers by the retail unit, and they are much easier to handle than the wigglers. Below are some tips based on my experience in raising these for bait:1. Arrival size – many negative reviews focus on the condition of these worms upon arrival. Please read the instructions closely, as the worms have been prepared for efficient shipment and are near dehydration. These worms will not be anywhere near adequate fishing size when they arrive.

Arrived quickly and are doing great. I received these pretty quickly after i ordered them. They seemed in good shape (healthy). I put them on top of my new bed i made for them and they fairly quickly went into the bed. Within about 15 minutes they were almost all underground. They have been doing well for a few weeks now. If i had to guess how many i got with this 1 pound order, i would guess it was every bit of 500 worms. I felt this was a very good deal.

My plants love those castings. I have three worm bens now and i don’t no how many generation of worms from that one purchase. My plants love those castings.

I ordered these epc and they arrive all alive and kicking. I put mine in a magic worm ranch for their home and it worked fine but when i checked them after about two hours they were all at the edges trying to get out. The magic worm ranch has a good fit with a book on top so they couldn’tescape. Some clown said not to feed them until after 48/hours. After 20 hours i checked on them again and again they were all at the edge trying to escape. Then watched uncle jim’s video on what to do when you first get your worms. I noticed he feedthemimmediately.

Got my worms today, took about 3 days. I also live in california with the worms originating in pa. I was a bit hesitant about ordering considering the distance but went ahead due to the great reviews. The box was pretty beat up; upon inspecting i was delighted to see they were all in good shape. I couldn’t find a dead or damaged worm. They were mostly in a ball in the center of the peat bedding which made it easy to introduce to their new home. I can’t wait until they are settled in so we can get rolling with the vermicomposting.

Finally a good supplierlast year i went searching for some worms to raise for fishing and compost. I was looking for european crawlers and thought i did my due dilligence and narrowed it down to the redwormcomposting site. The guy had a great informative blog and seemed trustworthy. I purchased the euros from him and raised them for the last year. They have thrived but are too small to put on a hook. I tried to contact them asking if he could assure me in being able to get real euros – as the ones i have are not. After two tries at contacting him i realized i was getting nowhere. So i decided to not give up and try again. I read the reviews from amazon on uncle jim’s and figured i would give it another try. I ordered euros about 4 days ago and my worms arrived today. I opened the package and immediately saw they were in a nice professional looking package with good instructions. I opened up the bag and was blown away.

They are growing just like those in the backyard too. Was expecting night crawlers and got regular old dig in the backyard worms, they are growing just like those in the backyard too. Enough said, well maybe not. I figure these worms will make fish bait in another 3 weeks to a month, have had them over a week, will just keep pouring inthe food.

Lots of fat and sassy worms. I followed the instructions for rehydrating and waking them up. They were pretty big and not a dead one in the bunch. When i put them in the worm condos, they were ready to wiggle down into the dirt. I already have baby worms and am starting to find a few out in my garden. In a few weeks i’ll take worms from the condos and ‘plant’ them in my raised bed gardens. Can’t wait to take some of my worms to the fishing hole.

Well packaged with temperature protection. -speaking of which, don’t subject these european nightcrawlers to temp changes in a short time period. I had mine in the basement, doing fine around 50f, then brought up to living room around. The tiniest immature worms survived, and slowly have grown over the past year, still nowhere near as large as the adults which died because of my mistake.

These little guys arrived healthy & were quick to disperse. These little guys arrived healthy & were quick to disperse into my compost bed in the container. They are big enough that so far none have crawled out of the air holes in the side of my compost container.

Arrived in great condition, after the first batch got lost. (it was delivered the same day as the second batch, which i informed the seller and he said to keep them). They were eating like a charm, all the way until i stopped using the worm farm. I like the concept, and i never had any problems with smells, but the fruit flies were too much for an indoor farm. Expected, but i had my hopes.

I was surprised when these worms arrived. They’ve been working great in my large compost bin.

Uncle Jim’s Worm Farm European Nightcrawlers Composting and Fishing Worms 2 Lb Pack – I would definitely order again!!

Great seller and service but if your on the west. Great seller and service but if your on the west coast might be a good idea to wait until december to order, i tryed 2 times to get them in my and both times everything was dead, the red wiggles all arrived perfect and they are still doing great, i now have over 14000 wormsthanks uncle jim.

And i touched them with my bare hands. I live in arizona in an area plagued by cotton root rot and wanted something, anything, to help improve the very clay-ish soil and increase my chances of keeping my trees alive and healthy longer. I don’t think i bought enough worms to be honest – i got the 2lb pack. There were big worms and there were little worms. No idea, i didn’t really look – but there was a lot of wiggling going on (no pun intended). I lifted the soil with a shovel, reached into the bag, grabbed a small handful, dropped them in and gently replace the soil. For the trees in the rocks, i moved aside some rocks, made a little hole and the worms burrowed right in within minutes (i wouldn’t do that to them here in july, they’d probably fry).

This is a great group to due business with, everything was as it was advertised to be and in great condition. Very healthy worms i have had them for about 3 weeks and they are very active and doing a good job composting my scraps from the kitchen.

  • Excellent service and product
  • Worms, oh my! And I touched them with my bare hands! Eeeek!
  • Earthworms from Uncle Jim’s always arrive in excellent condition. I have ordered from other companies and

Excellent service and product. Excellent service and product. Make sure that you read the instructions and follow them completely. I placed my worms in my raised beds and composter and have plenty of fat, slimy, sassy earthworms. I will continue to patronize this company.

Not actually ‘nightcrawlers’ but order them anyway. So, these aren’t actually nightcrawlers. That’s a common misconception. There are worms that are nightcrawlers that are part of a separate species. Everyone calls this species nightcrawlers anyway, so let’s move on. To my complete amazement they arrived alive and active. The packaging is smart and effective. They’re guarded from light, but not suffocated. And you really get a lot for the price. Hundreds of adults plus a food medium that they’ve clearly laid eggs in. This is the best thing for establishing worm populations in your soil or starting a composting bin. It might not be what you want for fishing since you can’t use the babies and eggs for bait. Since i am improving my soil this was exactly what i needed. I put a big handful a foot under the soil in about a dozen places around my garden, grape vines, and fruit trees.

Great experience with uncle jim’s on this purchase. Worms arrived fast and not a single dead one as far as i can tell. I bought these because right now roughly the same amount of worms would cost around $600 at the local bait shops by the double dozen. I have converted an old wooden crate into a worm bin and filled it with top soil and grass clippings and leaves within about 15 minutes the worms had all dug in. Great experience with uncle jim’s on this purchase.

I would definitely order again. They came wriggling and looking good. Due to the time i got them and the amount of day light left i didn’t go through them worm by worm. But every wiggling handful was alive and ‘kicking’ lol. I bought these during the winter and they were outside in my bunny barn. They made it through the va. I’d definitely order from these guys again. I use these under my rabbit cages. They eliminate the need for cleaning since they break everything down.

Earthworms from uncle jim’s always arrive in excellent condition. I have ordered from other companies and. Earthworms from uncle jim’s always arrive in excellent condition. I have ordered from other companies and those earthworms arrived very lethargic and did not recover. I have received 4 separate orders from uncle jim’s and have been very pleased every time. The earthworms respond well when introduced to the composting bin and thrive.

Great worms, although they have a funny accent :). I bought these worms for my kids to use for fishing and vermicomposting. Also, they have sold some on the side for income. These worms arrived quickly (despite what amazon said at checkout – they gave me like a month long window). So i contacted the seller, and he explained that they were being shipped right away, which was good since we were headed out of town for the weekend. When we got the worms, they were larger than i expected, and there were a lot of them. We started them in an old styrofoam cooler (modded for worms). I like the fact that the european nightcrawlers do not need to be stored at cooler temps like the canadian crawlers. We have been feeding them veggie scraps, egg shells, coffee grounds.
