Rubbermaid

Rubbermaid Trash Can Lid, Larger than needed but keeps out the rain.

Would buy from this company again. Would buy from this company again. Price was good, i just wished they had more choices of color. A neutral color would have worked much better as it would go well with every color container.

I ordered two of these lids to replace a cracked lid and a missing lid. They both fit well enough that they will not blow off however not tight enough to keep out those pesky fruit flies that garbage attracts. I was pleased to find these replacement lids and not have to purchase new garbage cans.

Exactly what i needed to replace the original but now broken lid.

“fit tight to trash cans, Very good replacement, Larger than needed but keeps out the rain.”

Exactly what i needed to replace the original but now broken lid.

I received what i ordered – green – but i. I received what i ordered – green – but i would have preferred any of the other colors. (they come in blue, tan, and green. ) purchase price was fair, but even slow shipping cost as much as the darn lids. That put a lid on my satisfaction.

I have been looking for replacement lids for years, since the rubbermaid trash cans are almost indestructible, but the original lids cracked and broke. These lids fits perfectly and now i have lids for the two cans that i couldn’t cover.

Does not snap-fit like the old lid, but then i didn’t expect it to. It does fit fairly firmly which is fine. Mine is a very old (20+ yrs maybe?)light blue can, od just shy of 21 3/4′ across the top. The old lid was dark blue, and literally just falling to pieces; the last hail storm broke the camel’s back. It literally punched holes in it. Lolthe bases are good, so replacing the lid is a great alternative to dumping the whole thing. Thanks for offering this producti will order another for a 2nd can which also has a deteriorating lid. Shipper was fast with good, albeit a bit pricey, packaging.

Almost impossible to find these locally. Almost impossible to find these locally. The desert sun bakes them and they crack and break up long before the rest of the trash can does.

These fit perfectly on our 32 gallon roughneck trashcans. They’re not identical to the original tops — the material is thinner and they’re a darker color. The dark color is a bit of a disadvantage as we can’t write our address on the lid, something i would prefer to do as somebody stole the previous ones. Otherwise they meet our needs.

No more turning the cans over. . The lids fit on all standard cans.

Good quality trash can lids. My trash cans are in great shape, but the sun destroyed the lids, and i didn’t want to buy all new trash cans when i only needed the lids. The lids fit perfectly and look nice.

Fit real tight on a true value trash can, where it was actually hard to put on. Eventually it fit but was pretty snug. The other trash cans it fits and is tight once on. You have to lift up the handles to click it off. I worry about these breaking because they usually do or have on other lids. I had a cornerstone lid that was cracked and another unknown type of trash can. The true value one it was difficult at first but fit eventually.

At first these covers weren’t fitting right. At first these covers weren’t fitting right. And since they were too costly to return them. I am known for my creative ideas.

I thought i reviewed this, but it was still in my list to be reviewed. These fit the roughneck cans perfectly. The lids go long before the cans themselves. It was great to breath life back into my 11 or 12 garbage cans, for a price much cheaper than buying new complete cans.

A hail storm knocked great holes in the lids of four trash cans we use to store mulch and potting soil. The cans are fine, but it is difficult to find somebody willing to sell just the lid. This company will do that, and its item descriptions helped me order the right lid. A great product and a good company to deal with.

It was received in good condition, and will serve for many years. This lid and related containers are ok. It was received in good condition, and will serve for many years. However, i prefer the more expensive rubbermaid commercial round brute container and lid.

Larger than needed but keeps out the rain. . As old as these things are numbers don’t tell much. I don’t understand why they do not give the diagonal measurement of the opening. Mine was 2 inches smaller than the lid i received. The lid was packaged in a long but slightly narrow box and was dented. If left in the sun light it will get very warm but this popped out the dents in the lid. I like to see the recycle emblem and number but this one did not have either.

Rubbermaid 1799571 Hidden Recycler – A great little bin that makes kitchen recycling easy

Love it, but don’t pack it too tight. Not big enough to fit a pizza box into, but it’ll hold lot of recyclables. Taking it off its hanging over-the-door mount is really easy, as is placing it back on. Since it is flexible, when you push your recyclables down into it, the bag will kind of mold to their shape, making them not want to come out when you empty it. I have to either not pack it quite as tightly and empty it more frequently, or use my hand to pull stuff out. Not a bad thing at all, and it certainly doesn’t detract from the otherwise awesomeness of the product; just something to note.

We’ve been using a paper grocery sack for a recycling bin. Not only does that look messy but our dog has easy access to everything we put in it. This means we have cardboard boxes and plastic packaging used for chew toys and then strewn about the house constantly. This rubbermaid bin is the perfect sution and i love it. The design is actually pretty simple and brilliant, which is a great combination. Our kitchen cabinet under the sink has a disposal on one side and dishwasher plumbing on the other, and this bin fits perfectly. My husband used very short screws to install it on the inside of the cabinet door and it is very secure. The bag is lined and waterproof and has a nifty handle that lifts out while the bracket and lid stay put. It even has a handy little handle on the back to make dumping it really easy.

I elected to mount the recycler to the inside of my under-sink cabinet door. The template did not match the size of my door (which is larger) so adjustments had to be made. You also might try double-sided tape to attach to the door to be sure it opens and closes without rubbing the cabinet face frame before mounting. You have to provide your own screws, being careful to use the right size. The mounting holes on the hanger bracket are very small and i enlarged with my electric drill to accommodate larger screws. We use ours as a trash bin and not for recycles and it works just great. Even though it’s lined, we put in the publix brown grocery bag, fold down the top of the bag a couple inches, and it works just great. Another plus was that the color matched the color scheme of our kitchen, even though it’s behind the door, out of sight. I was a little concerned about the lid when unloading trash into it, but the lid will conveniently stay open until you close it.

  • A great little bin that makes kitchen recycling easy
  • Greatest Contribution to Recycling EVER!
  • Perfect RV trash can!

Perfect out-of-the-way recycling bin. I was previously using a cardboard box for my recycling until my boyfriend accidentally recycled the box. I have a small kitchen in an apartment, so i needed something small and out of the way. It was really easy to put together and hang inside my cabinet with the over the door hooks. It also came with mounting gear if you prefer that. It fits perfectly inside my cabinet. Yes, it’s small, but what would you expect for something that is designed to hang inside a cabinet?.It still fits a good deal of items if you crush/compact them down first. I empty it about once a week (just me in my house). It is really easy to take out too. The bag/handle assembly easily lifts off the rest of the fixture to take to your outside bin. There is even a handle on the bottom of the bag to easily dump it. Then it just slides back on to the lid/door assembly.

Bought a new house and there is no place in any lower cupboard for a recycling bin. Normally i would put it under the sink but the side that doesn’t have the drain has a garbage disposal. All the other cupboards have a fixed shelf in the middle making it impossible to put a bin in them so i ordered this rubbermaid one. It is small enough for me to but on the door under the sink and not hit the drain pipe or garbage disposal but big enough to hold a lot of recyclables. I am happy i purchased this as we just had a plastic container on the floor and my dogs were always interested in sticking their noses in there. This could be dangerous if they were to get a hold of a can with an exposed lid. I would buy this again and recommend it.

We use this as a trash can for our rv (minnie winnie). We installed two camco screen door cross bars, an upper and a lower one. This recycler is hung off of the lower cross bar, so it basically hangs off of the step well and is out of the way while conveniently close to the kitchen. It makes an otherwise unusable space very functional for very little money. When we travel it is easily removed, and we use tall kitchen bags which fit pretty well. We love that it has a lid so you don’t stare at your trash, and the soft side is perfect since we still open and close the door. Because of how we use it, we don’t put alot of heavy things in it, and the size prevents you from overloading it. Since it is on the door, it moves out of the way when you enter/exit the rv.

A great little bin that makes kitchen recycling easy. A great little bin that makes kitchen recycling easy. We previously had a full size trash can for recycling, but that was cumbersome to take out and took up a lot of space in our pantry. We recently bought a new house with a smaller pantry, and i knew i’d have to find a more compact solution. I had seen this in the local box store, but ordered from amazon at a better price. We have it set up with the hooks, because i am not going to drill into my beautiful new cabinets. I did put it on a side cabinet rather than directly under the sink, but only because i have a child lock on my sink cabinet that i do not want to have to unlock every time i have a can or bottle to go in the bin. The hooks in no way interfere with shutting the cabinet door fully, and the small bit of stainless that shows blends into the rest of my appliance finishes. My favorite thing about the bin is the ease with which it is removed. The handle is very convenient, and it slips in and out of the holder without fuss.

I was determined to hang my kitchen trash inside the cabinet door under my sink. This was the perfect solution. Its big enough to work for kitchen trash, unlike some of the other offerings that were only 2 to 3 gallons. It can be hooked over the door to try out and to figure out exactly where to mount. Has ability to permanently mount on the door, but you must provide screws.

Very nice, hardware not complete. Manufacturers should consider what they are making and how most people are going to use it. Cabinet doors are not very thick, a few screws for cabinet doors would make this a complete product.

After a kitchen remodel i had little space left to put a can for recycling. This is the perfect size and easy to install. I used two smallish screws to attach it to the inside of our basement door to keep it out of sight, it holds quite a bit of material before becoming filled to where i need to dump it in the outside recycling bin. The lining is waterproof and it’s washable too. Easy to lift off the hanging bracket to take to the large outdoor bin. I’m really happy with how it works.

What a wonderful item for a phenomenal price. What a wonderful item for a phenomenal price. This holds twice as much as i thought it would. Used in my kitchen for recyclables, no more traipsing outside wityh individual items. Easy empty, stays clean and so well made. Purchased a second one to use as laundry basket for underwear, socks, night clothes and tees and jerseys. They all fit fine for a perfect load.

Really great to have recycling and garbage in one container. Really great to have recycling and garbage in one container. We put the recycling in the top and found a small clear bag that fits; but we don’t replace it every time, just carry it and dump the contents into the big recycler. The bottom we use for garbage and use the standard 13 gal kitchen bags in them. They don’t get as full as they would in a larger container, but my husband always yelled at me for overfilling the bags in the standard size container anyways; this way at least they can still be tied shut. Can open the bottom by leaning against it with your leg so if you are holding say, a bunch of messy chicken scraps you don’t have to get the garbage all messy. The top container lifts off and there is a carry handle for it; the top can reattach to the bottom smelly garbage while you’re carrying the recycling out. The bottom container can lift all the way out (instead of tilting open) if you need a bigger work surface, like when you are emptying a vaccum container into the garbage – but i think that’s the only time i ever take it out all the way, except for taking the bag out.

This bag is the perfect solution for us as renters. This bag is the perfect solution for us as renters. The bag is a great weight, very easy to unhook and empty, and doesn’t let any leaks get into the cabinet. I do put a recycling bag inside this one for greater ease in changing out our compost. We have another for recycle items which, after being rinsed clean, sometimes leave a few drips. Usually i have a regular plastic garbage bag inside this one and just empty that into our regular recycle bins in the garage. When the extra bag is forgotten, however, this bag keeps any drips inside.

Easy to mount, time saver, and perfect for hiding unsightly recyclable material. These fit perfectly on the cabinet door below my kitchen sink and laundry room sink. It’s easy to mount and holds a little less than a brown paper bag (grocery store bag) of recyclable material. When the bag is full, i just grab it by the handle and go dump my recyclables in a bin in the garage. Its snaps back in place very easily. I’d recommend this to anyone who wants to save time and hide an unsightly recycle bin in the house. Just remember, you’ll have to make space under the sink to close the cabinet door when the bag is full. Losing some space under the kitchen sink and laundry sink was worth it to me.

Wish i’d bought this years ago. The only minor inconvenience is the fact that the handles on the bottom unit will be covered by a bag (if you choose to use one). So when you’re ready to take the trash/recycling out, you either have to carry it by the lip of the can, or remove the bag a bit to get to the handles. But like i said, it’s a minor inconvenience, and due to the smaller size, the can is unlikely to get so heavy that you can’t carry it by the lip. Other than that one tiny design flaw, this is the perfect trash can/recycler for someone like myself who lives in an apartment building that does not offer single stream recycling. It’s a good size, not too big or too little, and is far more aesthetically pleasing than my previous set up consisting of two mismatched trash cans. Love it, highly recommend it, and it’s probably my favorite household purchase in a long while.
