Rev-A-Shelf

Rev-A-Shelf Replacement Waste Bin -50 Quart, Five Stars

Perfect replacement for the originals that came with my cabinets.

I bought this along from amazon and the lid from the manufacturer. What an awesome combination. It fit into my 10 year old cupboard holder that used to hold an umbra. Love the way the cover flips up towards the cabinet and not to the side so that it can be used from either side.

These cans are as efficient as a kitchen can can be. They have right angles at each corner and are not rounded corners. The sides are basically straight (perpendicular from the floor). I was able to fit two of these into a small cabinet and use one for recycling and one for trash. They fit a standard ‘tall kitchen bag’ (e. , glad tall kitchen drawstring bags). They are much more expensive ($35-40 per plastic can) at stores on on other sites, at least when i was looking.

This was exactly what i expected, it arrived on the last day of expected time, and it was packed just right. It fits perfectly, is good quality and i love it.

Arrived quick, bought to fit wooden trash box we bought that came with small bin.

Looks great and good quality. I bought a different brand and thought this would fit. I will use these somewhere else. Can never have too many trash cans.

Exactly what we needed for a replacement.

, Love these!
, Looks great and good quality

Perfect replacement for a broken waste bin.

Needed a very specific size, and this is it, to fit inside of a sunny designs sedona trash box.

Fits perfectly in my built in receptacle.

I fit 2 of these in my drawer for waste and recycle.

Took forever to find it works great.

I love these trash cans, they actually fit in my cabinet drewer that was costume cabinets made from the previous owner, i tried getting standard trash cans thinking they would fit but slightly to big but these fit so perfect and look so sleek and nice. My husband is going to make a devider for them inside the drewer.

. Replacement for 1 of a set of 2 cans. Will order again if necessary.

Perfect replacement for the double 35 quart cans that came with my rev a shelf. Save on shipping by ordering 2 of them now.

Call them and ask for a catalog, great items.

These bins are the perfect size for the pull-out trash drawer in our remodeled kitchen. I got one for trash and one for recycling. So far they have held up quite well after about a year of use.

After several purchases and returns at several stores to find the right fit i finally got smart and measured the space and size i needed in a waste basket. This waste basket fit perfect. I could not believe a 50qt would fit when a 30qt would not. I will promise you that you will not be disappointed in this purchase.

Fits perfect in my slide out cabinet.

Lasts for years and easy to clean.

My husband wanted this for a clients kitchen. Works great, easy to install.

Heavy duty, has a small lip to help carry, a little larger handle would be nice improvement, much better than the one we had previously.

Two fit nicely in a 24′ wide pullout installed where there once a second dishwasher.

It’s a trash can, what can you say?.

Didn’t fit where i needed it so had to find new use for it.

Trash and recycle bins for my custom pull out cabinet.

I needed a taller garbage can for my new full height pull out garbage drawer cabinet. This fit the rev-a-shelf double pullout waste container series rv-18pb-2-s to replace the 35 quart shorter containers.

I ordered 2 of these to replace the cracked originals in my recycling unit. Although they are slightly different from the originals they still fit.

I wanted a large freestanding open inexpensive waste bin for recyclables. This container meets each of these criteria perfectly. Big enough but not overwhelming in the kitchen.

Shipped faster than expected and fits my wooden garbage.

Perfect fit for my wooden trash can that i bought it for.

Fits in my kitchenmaid garbage can cabinet perfectly.

Fits perfectly in the space that i need.

I had been looking for a 2nd bin for my kitchen.

We have a pullout draw next to the sink. There are various systems that involved replacing the pullout draw mechanism, but i didn’t see how to put the drawer’s wood face onto them, so i needed two bins of very specific size: one for non-flat recycling, one for trash. A lot of bins that fit in the drawer were a little short. At one point, i had one size for garbage that was taller, but because of its shape, the recycling bin had to be shorter. They fit the drawer perfectly – mostly because i measured over and over again the footprint, the airspace, the length, height and width. The only unfortunate thing was i didn’t account for the knob on the shallow drawer above the garbage drawer. So, the recycling bin lid opens, but not very wide unless i muscle it around. What i love about having two bins exactly the same is that i can take the garbage and recycling out at the same time, and the recycling bin liner becomes the new garbage bag – i just switch the green and white lids (acquired separately), and i put in a new garbage bag as the recycling bin liner. At first, i was a little disappointed there were no spring loaded lids for these. That is the part that always broke in one way or another with all the prior bins we had, and i was always trying to keep them going as long as i could with new springs or superglue. Also, sometimes the spring wouldn’t catch, and we’d have to open the drawer slowly and get our fingers to push down the spring lid as we opened it further.

Rev-A-Shelf – RV-18PB-2 S – Double 35 Qt, Got space back in my kitchen!

I get paper bags from the grocery store because they fit perfectly in the provided bins. Installation -had a problem with the water taps hitting the top rim of the top can, i removed a 1 inch section from the middle and taped back together so it clears the top now. Way better solution than notching the rim- structurally it’s still rigid. Tips:if it’s going under the sink anyone doing a new kitchen should put the taps, drainage, and disposal to one side to make sure there is enough clearance on top and back, this thing is deep.

We did some remodeling and finally had a cabinet where we could install this. It went in pretty easy and it works wonderfully. I love having the garbage out of site. These cans don’t have lids which in a way would be nice but in another way. You would have to open them every time. Now we just open the cabinet door and put things in. They are not huge cans and we empty often so no problems. I use a standard 13 gallon trash bag and it works great. It slides in and out nice and smoothly.

Anything rev-a-shelf worth purchasing just redid whole kitchen installed r-a-s in every base cabinet, pantry and slide out for tray over fridge great product.

I bought this to replace an older rev-a-shelf system that had completely fallen apart. I was very disappointed in the quality/durability of the old system, so was reluctant to buy this one. However, the quality of this seems much better. Pros: easy to install, pretty much. This is more of a $50 item than $180. Also, you may need to add risers to the bottom of your cabinet to accommodate this as the directions assume the bottom of the cabinet it flat. I’ve added a picture — i had to add 3 inch strips of 1/4 poplar wood to both sides of the bottom of my cabinet. I also bought 1 inch screws that were a tad longer than the ones included.

I love this system and can’t believe i waited so long to buy this. It was fairly easy to install (for a tiny person who fits under the counter easily). It slides nicely and feels sturdy even when both cans are full. After a few days of using this, i broke down and ordered the kit that attaches the cabinet door to the front of the sliding rack, so i don’t have to open the door, slide the rack, then close the door. I highly recommend that if you’re installing this. (rev-a-shelf heavy duty door mount kit)the sliding shelf made a huge difference in our small kitchen. No more ugly trash cans sitting out. (and the door mount kit makes it even better, especially when i’m busy and only have 1 free hand.

So this is a review from an amateur diy guy and by no means a pro. I just bought the dual-bin slide-out with door mount kit. Previously, i had just the slide-out unit behind a standard cabinet door. I will say the longevity is questionable, since this appears to be the same product that was originally installed in my home, which was completely worn out after just a few years. After installing this replacement, it already rubs and grinds a little. I even removed and reinstalled it to make sure it’s straight, but that didn’t help. Installation overview: maybe it’s just my luck, but it took me a couple hours to install the whole system and have it look decent. Mostly trial and error on my part. Install details: instructions for the door kit say the door is plenty adjustable, but realistically, there is only vertical adjustment. Double sided sticky tape is provided to assist with attaching the door to the brackets with screws.

my husband always gets irritated at me because i buy stuff, and think i can install it myself. Half way through i always end up saying ‘can you help me a minute’ and then he finishes the job. As soon as my rev-a-shelf arrived i got to work. It fit perfectly under my cabinet (and i have an old house with old cabinets) and sink. We just remodeled and put in a new sink so i completely forgot to measure to see if the top of the trash can would hit the sink – so don’t forget that your sink may be lower than the opening of the door. Luckily mine has about 1/2′ clearance when the trash cans are inside.

“NOT JUST A TRASH CAN!!!
, pantry and slide out for tray over fridge GREAT
, In this house we hide trash – just like we do with feelings- great product, well made

One bigger size and the next size down. I then purchased the door bracket to have one handle for easy access. We’re still in the process of the remodel but it’s coming together. I will buy rev a shelf items in the future.

Fits perfectly in our 18′ cabinet. I was under the impression this had a soft self close feature like i saw a review on youtube but i was wrong. That was a bit disappointing but i didn’t want to deal with returning it and paying more for one with that feature so i modified mine. 22′ soft close full extension slides can be purchased at home depot for $20. I purchased those and some bolts and mounted them to mine. Now i have the soft close feature and it took me about 30 minutes to modify them. The cage that the cans sit on unscrew and i drilled holes in the new railing and screwed them back to the cage. The mounts which bolt to your cabinet are riveted to the slides. Drilled those out and use a #8 machined screw and nut.

Once you have these you will never go back to regular trash cans. This works so well: slides in and out smoothly, holds two nice size bins, fits into most cabinets. I highly recommend getting the front mount for single hand use. It’s a separate item, and about $20, but it makes it into a one-handed-open. Works fine no matter where it’s mounted. We had this in a custom home we bought and it was a $400/option. In this new house, doing it with this kit, much less expensive and it’s easier to keep clean. Took me about 20 minutes to unpack, read directions, grab tools, and install. Took my hubby another 8 minutes to install the front brackets (separate product). You will have to bend down and crawl between tight areas to tighten screws inside the cabinet. Again, you’ll wonder how you lived without you trash/recycling hidden.

I tried several ways of containing my garbage and recycling to one cupboard. Nothing worked well and i was tired of the frustration of not having a good place to put recycling items. I finally gave in and purchased this item. I think it took longer to assemble the metal frame than it did to actually install it. 15 minutes at the most from start to finish and i’m a girl. I also ordered the brackets to attach the cupboard door. Installation time of 15 minutes does not include attaching the door. My cupboard is quite a bit taller than the wastebaskets so i was able to fit the box of garbage sacks under the rear basket. That was a nice surprise since they would no longer fit in the cupboard otherwise.

Who knew i’d be excited about my trash cans?. I just installed this so my review will be mostly based on that. I’m a sahm who occasionally likes to prove to my husband that i can do a diy completely on my own. I was able to install this plus the door attachement in one hour with my 12 mo old crawling all over me. It was really easy and made even easier with an electric screwdriver. Instructions were clear and easy to read. They were written by someone who has a complete understanding of the english language and knows how to explain things. My kitchen now feels high end. I’m glad i spent the money on this.

Most folks might want this under a sink. If 99 of 100 sinks are double, both cans won’t fit because of plumbing. (i see from the photo where ‘extra’ bits are meant to go. This is a quality full pull glider. I installed one can that is very convenient now. And put the other in a dark corner to put ‘big’ recycle stuff that would fill a single can too quickly. All in all i’m happy i bought this. But be prepared to install it ‘intuitively’ .

Who knew that moving your trash and recycle bin off the floor would make such a huge difference?. I sure didn’t – not until i got this. I installed it myself in about 10 minutes and it has been such a life changer. The only thing i would recommend is, since there are no lids – put a little container of baking soda inside the cabinet to reduce the trash smell – or get lids?. The containers are not large enough to hold a whole bunch of trash anyway, so we change out the trash bags about twice a week (family of four). We use one bin for trash and one for recycling and both are dumped about twice a week.

speed of delivery ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ quality of the product ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⏰ minus one star because only time will telll. Ease of install ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ minus one star for incomplete directions – and i get it. . Directions are provided for just about everything else, except the final component. . The handle – but incomplete directions, just feel lazy & unprofessional. By the way putting the handle on just requires looking at the photograph and squeezing the “u” shade connector hard enough.

This worked perfectly for my location. It is made well with a very smooth slide-out mechanism. Because of the placement of the pipes under my sink, i had to make some adjustments to make it work. I had only enough room for one of the trash cans so i cut down the second one and i use it for trash bag liners, dishwasher soap, refills of dish liquid soap and brillo pads. I could have used one trash can by itself but needed the trash can to be used with the flat part side-to-side and not front-to-back and also wanted the slide-out option to keep everything well organized. This is exactly what i needed and an excellent product.

(sort of a no brainer: make sure you measure your cupboard frame before you buy this. Measurements listed on the site are accurate)i’ve had it installed for just over a month. The mechanism is smooth and easy to operate. I turned one of my poorly leveraged cabinets into my garbage/recycle and i’m so happy to have the space back in the kitchenat first i was worried about a slightly smaller trash capacity than my free-standing can i was getting rid of, but the kitchen space gained is worth it and i’m forced to take the smelly trash out more often ;-)installation was a piece of cake, just a few screws. My only advice is make sure to give yourself a enough room on the sides so it doesn’t catch the trash liner and tear it.

Perfect laundry room solution for sorting laundry without the huge expense of revamping the entire laundry room cabinetry. Very sturdy and perfect for separating just the right sized load.

Just received this, pulled out a shelf and installed it by myself. The product seems well made. And i love not having a trash can out in the open in my kitchen.

The rev-a-shelf install was ridiculously easy. From unboxing to installation the process took right at 15 minutes. And the bulk of that was removing a shelf from inside the cabinet. The slides are smooth and the unit itself is sturdy once properly secured. The cans seem durable, and hefty cinch sacks 13gal fit well. I’ve got the door kit as well, so that will be the next mini-project. I’m impressed with the design and i’ll update as needed if there are any build quality issues. So far, this is a must-buy for kitchens where a trash can placement in the open would be an issue.

I installed this rev-a-shelf along with the door mount kit and the girlfriend approves. Slides very effortlessly, but i did make sure it was all nice and square before securing the 4 mounting screws to the cabinet base. Make sure you visit rev-a-shelfs website and check the part numbers to make sure you get the right size. Most of my 15′ cabinets which fit the 35qt didn’t have room so i had to return this 35qt and use a 12′ cabinet with the 27qt trash can version of this product. One note to installing, dry mount the door kit for your cabinet if you’re using it before securing it. I took this advice from another review and it made it easier. If you install it, then use the door mount, you can’t easily get the right depth. By putting the door mount kit on first and putting it in the middle adjustment depth you can then install the actual slide rails at the perfect depth for when it closes it actually latches in. This way it doesn’t just bump against the cabinet face as a ‘stop’ point. Mine actually catches and hits the rubber slider ends to ‘hold’ the trash cans in right as the cabinet door goes flush to the cabinet face.

This little unit brought a year to my eye. It’s poetic curves, strong silent steel and a smooth glide that will leave you feeling weak in the knees. The plastic bins are trusty classics that never fail. They are elegant and mysterious, and everything that one desires of a plastic bin. I can spend hours pulling this out and pushing it back in. The sound it makes is similar to that of a flight atop and eagle with gossamer wings. I also feel like a secret champion because i got a free handle. Oh how i revel in my own personal rose tinted world. I alone posses the only handle amoung the millions of units sold. For as i peered through the amazingly detailed instructions, for which there is no comparison, i did not find a picture nor a mention of this elusive handle.

I wanted a pull out shelf for the trash can under my kitchen sink but was having trouble finding one that was oriented the direction i needed in order to get the can in without the plumbing being in the way. It comes with two trash cans. They are nice and tall, so you can get a bit more trash in them. Since only one fit with my plumbing , i’m using the other elsewhere. I had hubby cut down the old trash can to a height that would clear the plumbing in the back of the cabinet (jig saw works great) and i’m using it behind the main can. This provided a bit more storage in that wasted space and helps the can not flop around in the drawer. ( there is a kind of wire divider between the two and they do provide brackets to use to hold one can by itself but my plumbing was even in the way of that. ) it also makes a great spot for storing some of the bulkier items under the sink. They are well built, sturdy and easy to install.

We have two large dogs who are so well-behaved you’d almost think they were trained that way. But we all have a dark side, and for these dogs it’s an affinity for the trash receptacle. I tried everything, including an $80 trash can. Alas, these otherwise dim-witted animals can out-think anything with a latch. Often times the dogs forget where the trash is, and when i open and close the drawer for trash and recycle; it flashes in their goldfish-brains for a second only to out-smart them again by completely disappearing into the cabinets. It’s wonderful and keeps me from losing my cool after a long day at work, whining kids, and a terrible commute home only to find the kitchen trash spread across the entire floor. This rarely happens now, unless someone forgets to close the drawer all the way. Edit:those f&^*&^ng dogs can open this now. Still cool aesthetically in the kitchen, but no longer functions for the reason i purchased it.

This is just what i was needing for an under cabinet trash bin. I was tired of seeing my trash can sitting out on my kitchen floor. I wanted a pull out bin but didn’t want to sacrifice the amount of space for trash. Some of the bins on the pull outs are on the small size, not so on this one. And, i love the fact that this one has two good sized bins and still fits in my standard depth cabinet. I am using the front one for all trash and back one for paper only. Standard 13 gal trash bags fit perfectly in the bins. The handle on the front bracket is great, it keeps you from having to touch the garbage bin.

I’ve been wanting to order this for a while, but recently my dogs have taken an interest in my trash can so i decided it was time to do it. I also have recycling that comes each week, but since i didn’t have a separate container i never really leveraged it except for large items. I also ordered the brackets which attach it directly to the cabinet door which i highly recommend, but the rest of the review is about this product specifically. The installation of this item is super simple.I had this installed in the cabinet of desire in less than 15 minutes. It literally might have taken me as long to get the shelf out of the cabinet because of those darn clips than to install this. Upon arrival, the base unit ships in a single piece, and then you just snap the wire frames for the bins into place. I never measured my cabinet, even before ordering. The awesome part about this being a bottom mount piece is the width of the cabinet isn’t all that important as long as it is minimally wide enough. I’m usually pretty anal about measurements and installations being an engineer, but this looked simple enough i just eye-balled it.

Packaging and delivery: this product comes in a heavy-duty cardboard box. Product was ordered on a saturday and arrived 9 days later on monday. Contents: as a pleasant surprise, this product comes fully assembled. The only extras are 4 screws and what appears to be a removable handle. I was pleasantly surprised that the two black waste baskets were included. I thought i’d have to buy those separate. Build: everything is very sturdy. The rollers are heavy-duty and fully-extendable. The waste baskets fit snug, and the unit does not move or shake around. It has a well-built feel to it.

Fits an 18” base cabinet like a charm. With about 1 3/8” clearance from the cabinet carcass sides. Install such that the rubber bumpers on the front are at the same depth as the back surface of the face frame (if you have face frame cabinets). I highly recommend the adapter brackets that allow you to directly attach the door to the pull out. It gives a much more polished look and removes the step of opening the door first before pulling out the bins (and, the potential for causing damage if you try to close the door without pushing the pullout all the way back in).

I have wanted to do this for a few years, so when we moved into our new house i just decided to not wait for my husband to install a roll out garbage bin and just to it myself. I had no problem following the directions and it took me 1/2 a nap time (about an hour) to stall the whole thing including the door mount hardware. My 6 yr old son did help out screwing in the back screw attaching the base to the cabinet, but i could have done it no problem. We have been using it for the last 2 months and it has worked great. Very sturdy, we put recycling in the back and garbage in the front. So stop waiting for your husbands to out fit your kitchen ladies, take the screwdriver into your own hands and just to it yourself.

Very little assembly required. One only needs to snap in place the upper bars that keep the containers upright. Per the included instructions, you will need a drill to make pilot holes for the screws that anchor the rev-a-shelf. I’m a big guy so it was a bit of a challenge to screw the two rear screws. Please note that this does not come with covers, so when checking the dimensions of your cabinet door opening, be sure to account for the covers (if you plan to use them). Also, if the cabinet is under a drawer that has a handle, make sure that your depth dimension (from the front of the cabinet to back) accounts for pulling the shelf far enough for the flip cover of the rear container to clear any drawer handles. On mine, the back flip cover does hit the handle, but i can’t bring out the rev-a-shelf any further. This is not a knock on the product. That’s just the limitations of my particular kitchen cabinet.

Very nice quality setup for placing garbage bins inside a cabinet. All mounting hardware was included and instructions were easy to follow. Had plenty of clearance to mount within the cabinet and i may have missed the details but was pleasantly surprised to find it came with two garbage bins. I purchased the optional face mount so you can pull the entire drawer out with a handle on the cabinet instead of opening the cabinet. Everything installed without an issue and looks great.

I love that it comes with 2 trash cans and they fit perfect under my standard single cabinet. It came in a bunch a pieces in an unidentified box with absolutely no instructions for installation. It was a guessing game that took a few trial and errors to get it to work correctly and we’re handy people. It would have installed in a fraction of the time had it just come with some installation directions. I’m not sure where this is really coming from and i didn’t get an open box price if it was already used and returned. Don’t forget to order the door attachment pieces separately if you want the system to slide out when you open the door. These came in a manufacturer’s box with overly detailed instructions.

I just received and installed this unit, about 15 minutes is all it took. Seems to slide very nice and smooth. Placed the cans in the unit everything fits great plenty of clearance which was good because i purchased the ids for the cans as well. Placed the lids on and still have clearance. I was very pleased with all of this because i built the island and made sure my measurements would receive this product with the measurements i was provided. The unit is placed in the center of one side of the island with a single door and a drawer above it similar to how the company has their product picture. The lids to the containers are hinged so that it might help with odors and generally keep the cabinet tidy looking. The one container i am using for recycle and placed a green recycle lid on that, the other container to the rear will be used for dog food so i placed a white lid on that. The back container does not come out far enough so that the hinged lid will clear the drawer above it. I have the track system back about an inch from the front of the cabinet which if i moved it the hinged lid would miss the drawer but will not open due to the handle of the drawer being in the way. Since i need a lid on the containers i’m keeping all that i purchased. The hinged lid will be used as a lift off lid, but i just wanted to point this out to anyone making a purchase of these items.

This product is very well-made. My daughter installed it for me. What a pleasure to have garbage and recycling hidden from view. I should have done this look ago. I’ve bought other rev-a-shelf products to make reaching everything in my cabinets a snap. As a senior citizen, it’s a blessing not to have to kneel or bend to get to stuff.

Mounted in conjunction with the dm17 door mounting kit. This easily fits inside my 36′ sink cabinet although i use this on the other side from the sink. You obviously cannot mount it under the sink directly for there would be pipes in the way, etc. The screws that mount the back to the cabinet floor. Way too small as other reviews have pointed out. Those 2 screws will be under the most stress when you slide out the rack all the way and perhaps push down on the trash can to cram it down so you don’t have to be the one to empty the bag 🙂 i replaced those back screws with heavy duty cement backerboard scews. The wood will fail before the screws do. I recommend you do the same. Other than that, it went together in minutes.

Let me first comment on the end product: this is a very high quality pull-out waste basket system that is meant to be installed in an open cabinet with either an existing hinged door or an attached door. I had to do a little bit of research on rev-a-shelf. Com to be sure that i was buying the model that fits my cabinet, since the descriptions here on amazon are less than adequate. So be sure to cross-reference the model number with their website to ensure you are buying the right model. Further, i had to do a little research to find a model that can be used to replace my old pull out system with my old cabinet door. Rest assured, the model i am reviewing can be used for exactly that purpose. Be aware because some of the rev-a-shelf models are made only for swing out doors and are not meant to be attached to a door as this model is. Also, although it looks like this model comes with a door, it only includes the inner system itself and it is meant to be attached to an existing cabinet door. It also comes with two very nice trash bins, all packaged neatly and safely together. When all is said and done, this is a very sturdy and attractive set that looks and feels to be of very high quality.

I needed a sturdy under-cabinet mounted and slide-out trash can holder and since i had previously bought, installed & used a lighter-weight product for 5 years in another house, am pleased to report that this choice was a major improvement over that one. This is a heavy-duty, well-made product that delivers exactly what i wanted: smooth slide action, trash can capacity (at 35 qts that’s the largest plastic can that will fit inside a cabinet in a slider-13 gal. I wanted double cans since i wanted to recycle in one while using the other for more appropriate trash. It came with an extra feature that wasn’t in the sales information or even in the product sheets in the box when it arrived. It came with a 7′ long u-shaped piece of metal with black clips on the ‘horseshoe’ ends and, in spite of having no direction from the installation manual, i clipped it onto the top front rail of the slider metal body frame. It’s a ‘pull-out’ handle for the whole slider that i never had missed or thought of before since no other products i’ve seen have one. After using this for the past two weeks, what a great feature. No more grabbing the edge of the plastic can to pull the whole thing out, sticking your fingers into old garbage and it rotates up or down, as you want to use it, and then sitting flush with the rest of the fixture so you can close the cabinet door. Now that i’ve used one, i’d never do without it.

We have been using this pull out trash can feature for about a year now, and i don’t know how we ever lived without it. Previously, we had to carry trash across the room to a trash can; having a trash receptacle next to the sink is wonderful. The product is great quality and was quite easy to install. As in the picture, we’re able to fit two decent sized plastic cans inside. We use one for trash and one for recycling. I had wondered if the cans would be too small, but for us, they are a great size. In our family of two, we usually fill up the cans 1-2 times per week.

Good idea but not practical for me. I installed but then when doing the dishes, i hated to have to open the drawer and pull garbage cans out. Also, 35 liters is really small for a regular kitchen size garbage. The last gripe is that i left garbage in there 2 days and it had already stunk the entire cabinet.I ordered the very expensive garbage can lids and then realized this just added to my aggravation. Now i had to open the cabinet, pull out garbage cans and also pull off lid, then do all steps in reverse just for a banana peel. All this seems like a lot when you are trying to also clean up and finish dishes. I returned and used money for a good looking can that has a step opener. Looks good, easy to use and i can use with no hands.

Rev-A-Shelf Dbl 35 QT Top Mount Waste Container Quart, The trash/recycle cans are good sized and I love having near the sink

Freed up space and wasn’t too bad to install.

Poor instructions that could be made much easier by the addition of a paper template. Also not as smooth as i expected despite adjusting numerous times.

Takes some time/patience to install, but works great.

The ‘soft close’ is a little stiff initially to pull out/open and does take some effort. It’s worth a little extra money for the hardware to mount directly to the cabinet door, and not have to open the cabinet, then pull your trash can out. Very good design, very clear instructions, very sturdy. If you actually own a drill driver, level, mearsuring tape and carpenter sense ( without having to borrow any of these) you should be able to install within an hour no problem.

The base for the cans, does not butt up against the front door, so i had to seal it myself with some caulking. And it doesn’t close well all the way. Kind of have to give it an extra push. I like the product otherwise, i guess, i mean, my trash isn’t out in plain sight.

It took the place of a compactor. Set up took a little longer than expected, but that was not due to the product, but rather the box that it went in to. I would not hesitate to purchase this.

Would have given 5 stars but the installation directions were very weak and it’s not an easy job. My husband can put together anything but this one was difficult as there was no way to tell how far apart or high up to mount the brackets. Once installed, it’s awesome and works great.

Comments from buyers

“Difficult install, instructions need complete overhaul
, What I knew: My new cabinet was an 18”
, Amazing product! If you close it gently

Good product, but as others mentioned, terrible install directions. They have extra you tube video and a ‘tips & tricks’ sheet you can print, but none of the directions tell you about having to have the rails spaced a specific distance apart. I do a lot of dyi projects, and this install took 3-4 hours, with a lot of trial and error. Revashelf needs better instructions.

What i knew:my new cabinet was an 18′ cabinet. What i did not know:my new cabinet has a 14. 5′ opening and this model will not fit and must be returned for the correct size. I ordered it while the cabinets were still in boxes in my garage prior to being assembled. I suppose it’s not rev-a-shelf’s fault that not all 18′ cabinets are standard 15′ openings, so i’ll just deduct a star – mainly wanted to post a review to save someone else from having the hassle of finding the right trash can fittings.

I like the auto close feature.

5” wide but i just chiseled an opening 15” wide for it to fit (see photo). I had some extra 1/2” cabinet material that i used for a backer plate for the slides (see photo). Directions aren’t that hard if you understand basic math and instructions. The screws aren’t labeled but 3 very distinct types of screws and easy to figure out where they go. Slides very nicely and is soft close.

But, what the instructions noted as an estimated 45 job turned into a head scratching 3 hour job. Our handyman would have done better without their instructions. The first pieces of hardware that was put on (as per the instructions) were the pieces that was preventing the unit from going all the way into the cabinet. So, they were ultimately removed. Now, all is right with the world.

The description of the rear bracket installation was not based in reality. Luckily in the instructions there was mention of a rev-a-shelf youtube channel. Oh wait, this particular model isn’t found there.Well a 40 minute job took 1-1/2 hrs of head scratching and amusement. After erasing them from my mind, i was better off not referring to the instructions. With a little common sense along with some trial and error, the brackets were mounted and the cabinet face installed. The usa distributor should really update the instructions for us poor american folk. Other than that, it works fine. A little stiff on the release, and a bit of slider noise, but functional.

Took a little time to install but works great.

Shameful instructions, not the normal translated from chinese by someone that only speaks 5 words of english instructions, no these seem to be written by someone who has installed this 500 times and assumes you know how to do it and only need a bare reminder. The instructions assume you have stock cabinetry, my standard size cabinet with inset doors (not rare by any means) is not accounted for at all. I went through the instructions several times before i could figure out why they made no sense. Finally figured out the issue and went to the youtube channel it lists on the instructions to pull up the installation video so i could at least see how it should work and was just amazed to find out they do not actually have an installation video for this model, the one they do have a video for installs in a completely different way. Went to the link for the pdf for the helpful hints and found out it only discusses how to get the soft close to work after the install. Useless and a waste of my time – don’t send me to youtube if you do not have anything there for me to watchleft to my own devices, the lack of any proper dimensions on the drawings made it difficult to reverse engineer how to make these work in my cabinets, but i eventually made it work by ripping down a 2×4 to stub out the side of the cabinet. Other no-nos in the instructions include having different dimensions for different models in the same instructions – stop trying to save a dime and have dedicated instructions for this model. It tells you to use certain screws, and the different types of screws come in their own bags, but they are not labeled so you have to pull out your tape measure and try to figure out which screw they are talking about. The instruction step for screwing in the back plate did not say which screw to use at all and i chose the wrong one, leaving me with finding my own screws when attaching the cabinet door. That is actually fine, given the weight of this thing, especially once loaded with trash, i was very wary of the small screws they gave to attach this to the cabinet and went back and used better screws throughout.

This is a bit of a nightmare to install, but once we listened to the other reviews and threw out the instructions, it was much easier. Save yourself the headache and read the installation tips in the reviews, not the instructions that come with the bins. That said, these look great and have functioned very well.

Beautiful and simple to work it.

This product is — mostly — great. I am so happy with the extra space in my small kitchen. The barrels are designed to hold a 13 gallon bag perfectly. We have one 13 gallon plastic bag in the front bin, and in the rear bin i use any old paper bags from the grocery store to easily store and empty my recyclables (see picture). The reason for docking one star is that after about a year the glider mechanism no longer works well. However — i guarantee that this is entirely because my house is full of my kids’ friends most days of the week, and there’s no way i can stand by and police the cabinet, and explain that you do not need to push the trash cabinet all the way closed. It is a soft-close mechanism. So all you need to do is get it mostly closed, then it will glide closed the rest of the way by itself. But most people (adults included) will go to close it, see that it ‘stops’ an inch or two short, and instead of waiting for it to close itself (which it used to do beautifully) will push on the door and force it closed thinking they’re being helpful. So after loads of forced closings, i’m not surprised it’s wearing out.

Difficult to install, but once in – it works great.

Easy to install if you a handy person. Worst part was measuring where to install the brackets. The rails are designed to flex as long as you space them far enough apart. Instructions were minimal, poor in my opinion, and bracket placement only became apparent after i installed. No big deal, i adjusted the rails and the remainder of the install was fine. The product itself is very solid and gets a lot of use in our house.

After reading the reviews i decided to have a trim carpenter install it, which worked out nicely. The soft close feature seems very stiff. You have to give it a good tug to get it open. Overall it seems very sturdy and i’m glad i bought it.

This is a very good product as almost all rev-a-shelf items are. I ended up sending this back because i was trying to step up to wood roll out trash on a project. This application would have been difficult to make it work. We went back to our original plan and used the rv 18kd-18c-s.

Neither myself or my able handyman could get this to fit to the width of our under the counter cabinet. He ended up using some miscellaneous plywood and attaching it to the sides of our existing cabinet walls and then installing this to the plywood. He also did indeed end up using his own hardward as well. All in all it was a difficult installation, but now works well and looks nice. My old set up had three cans which i prefer since we do lots of recycling, but these two cans are somewhat larger reducing trips to the curbside refuse container. Since our old cabinet door was a swing out it had a knob on the side, but we didn’t want to leave a hole there so we just added a cup handle to the middle since it now slides out. So much nicer to slide out then to open a door and then pull a rusty old shelf out just to throw out a piece of trash.

Installation instructions were lacking but the product was very high quality and works great.

My hubby had no trouble installing. The trash/recycle cans are good sized and i love having near the sink. The soft-close, slides work perfectly with the door fully seating.

I’m pretty happy with it so far. I’ve had to adjust it twice since i installed it, and the instructions kind of suck. It’s sleek, and works as it should. Better than a can under the sink.

Directions not good at all but quality product.

Excellent but needed a handyman to instal it.

Paritually my fault for not realizing this would not work in a double door cabinet. It needs side walls inside for rails to mount to. They should provide an adjustable front mount kit so the rails can mount like the rear. Otherwise hardware is good quality and i like the soft close features.

Great product and very easy to install. Well built and will last for years.

Great 2 basket recycle unit for retrofit in kitchen.

Rev-A-Shelf – RV-12KD-17C S – Single 35 Qt : This is hands down one my favorite upgrades in our kitchen

This product screws into the bottom of the cabinet in 4 locations. At that point, the ‘hard’ part is over. Its quick and easy to install. It comes out 100% and very sturdy when it’s out. I used the brackets kit to install the cabinet door to the shelf. This was still very easy but did take patience. I marked where my door sat before i took it off, so putting it back on in the right place was simple. I highly recommend this product. My only regret was i didn’t purchase this sooner.

Can’t say enough about this hardware. Dimensions in description are accurate. The stainless steel finish is polished and professional looking. Sliding action is rock solid. The bracket arms take some elbow grease to install, but the unit is rock solid holding the can once installed. The basket in the rear for holding your trash bag box is a welcome surprise. Buying another for my recycling now.

My double sinks were in the way and the doors wouldn’t shut, but another reviewer suggested cutting it, and even though i hadn’t installed the frame yet, i took a gamble. The trash can has a 4 in u cut in the back to make way for my pipes, but the frame is so smooth and my goal of having a hidden trash can under the sink is achieved.

I’ve installed a lot of things in my 54 years on this planet and this by far was the easiest thing i have ever installed. Was a bit critical the price before i bought it, but after installation and seeing the quality of the product. It even has a basket behind it which i am using for trashbags so they are close by. I’m going to get another one for my recycle items. Now i’m going to start looking at other slide-outs for pans.

Great solution to put a small trash bin into a cabinet. I could get this to fit under the sink although i have a garbage disposal in the same space. Overall, this is a product i can recommend. The only little surprise that has an impact on the space requirements and installation is that the slide has a catch mechanism: you have to push the slide with some extra force through a barrier so that it goes fully back. It’s a bit awkward to pull it back out over the barrier, so it would be easier not to push it past that barrier, but then the slides stick out a bit further. It’s less than an inch and probably not an issue for most installation. In my case, it was very tight in the space and it fits down to a fraction to an inch, so this means that it doesn’t fully side in and pushes against the door a bit. Not a biggy – just a little wrinkle in what is a nice product.

This product makes using the garbage fun. We had a cheap metal pull out that never fit right and had to be repaired by my husband countless times. I was determined to find a better quality option and this was it. This is a very nice product; sturdy, well made. It took my husband a while to get it flush and level, but once installed in worked extremely well. The little box in the back is great for storing the garbage bags. And i love that it connects with the door.

Rev-A-Shelf – RV-12KD-17C S – Single 35 Qt. Pull-Out Silver and Chrome Waste Container with Rear Basket

  • Make sure this fits
    by entering your model number.
  • Package Contents:(1) Silver 35 quart container with Chrome frame and mounting hardware
  • Designed for a Cabinet that is 15″ width (B15) from outside to outside, with a 11-1/2″ or wider opening
  • Assembled dimensions: 10.62″ W x 22″ D x 19.25″ H
  • 100lb Full-Extension Ball-Bearing slide system
  • Rear basket for extra storage
  • Removable handle

This is a well made product, looks solid and installs with only 4 screws that are provided. The track is on ball bearings so it slides easily in and out from under the sink. The pull handle is a nice addition that makes easier and more hygienic to pull the trash can. The small basket in the back is useful to place extra trash bags box. The construction is heavy steel that makes durable. The plastic trash can is a bit tall for location i have in due to the garbage disposal pipe, which is something i expected, so i replaced the trash can with a slightly shorter one. In general i am very please with it.

i wish i had done this soonerinstallation is straight forward with the clear instructions, the mechanism is smooth, and the trash basket is good quality. Can’t ask for much more than that. Please watch the video if you’d like to see this in action.

My mom has parkinson’s and has to remove her trash can from under the counter to empty it. I thought this would be better for her (plus i might inherit the place) so i installed this as a christmas surprise. It works great and i did not even bother to look at other brands because i own a double rev-a-shelf pull out rack for my heavy pans and love it. The quality is excellent and i am taking it with me when i move. You can use reg 13 gallon trash bags with this and there is no need to pay more for the smaller bags that fit smaller cans. Money is tight in our family so whenever we can do something to be helpful all year round, it means more than a bottle of perfume. She seems to like the waste can.

We had to remove the shelf inside our cabinet, but we cut it and hammered it out lol. Then we installed the slider which only takes 4 screws and the basket behind it with 2 which is super handy for bags or any type of storage. We also got the cabinet door adapter and that was as well super easy to install. Wished we would have done this upgrade sooner. We put away the big trashcan and the area looks bigger.

Very smooth sliding mechanism, easy to install. I also got the rev-a-shelf under sink plastic drip tray insert (rev-a-shelf – sbdt-3336-s-1). I installed that first and then when i drilled the hole to screw in the garbage can pull out, i just drilled right through the drip tray. It looks great, if i do say so myself. By the way, the installation was easy and i’m a 54 year old woman. The only thing that was somewhat confusing is they didn’t specify which size drill bit to use. I just used a really skinny one to err on the side of caution and it was only necessary to drill a starting hole. At that point i used a handheld screwdriver to put in the 4 screws. They went in easily to my starter holes.

I hesitated to trade existing storage space for a trashcan but i am so glad i did. The rev-a-shelf was easy to install and worked exactly as i expected. The instructions were a bit lacking but a quick check on you-tube is all you need. Just four easily placed screws to your cupboard bottom and project complete. Now my only problem is continually going back to my old trashcan space instead of my cupboard. The fact that the kitchen trash is not the first thing guests see when they enter my house is awesome. I should have done this upgrade years ago. You won’t be sorry if you purchase this unit.

It was easy to install and it glides smoothly. The feature that makes it one step better is the handle. The handle makes it really easy to reach to pull out and even to push back in. This is one of those items you never knew you needed until you got it. It has made a difference for me anyway.

This is hands down one my favorite upgrades in our kitchen. It is so nice to have the trash can hidden away (which also hides any unpleasant odors). We are not diyers but we did tackle installing this on our own. Wasy easy to install and works wonderfully (can even use your foot to slide it out). The only issue we have is that we ended up having to use bungee cords around the outside edge to keep our trash bags from falling in (maybe smaller bags would solve this, but we have just been using what we had for our previous can). This isn’t a deal breaker because the bungees work well and no one sees them.

Only four stars because the brackets that support the bin do not hold it snugly and the bin slides back and forth a bit when opening and closing. Almost seems like it is for a bigger bin. Nonetheless, it is well made and suits our needs. Basket in back is handy for utilizes space that would be otherwise hard to access behind the bin.

This is the best invention since sliced bread. It took all of five min’s to screw in. It fits well under my cabinets and it pull’s out easily so i can get to the trash, plus. The garbage pail isn’t a focal point in the kitchen anymore.I knew it would be smaller than my regular kitchen garbage pail so i actually paid attention to how much trash ended up in the pail on a daily basis and realized the size of this one would hold a decent amount before i had to throw the trash out. It could last me 3 days as long as the trash isn’t smelly. I measured first to make sure it fit but didn’t take into acct the pipes that were on the wall underneath the sink so i wasn’t able to use the little shelf attachment that sits behind the pail. It’s no biggie though as it’s in such an odd place that i probably never would have used it anyway. I have a lip on the bottom of my cabinet and it fits right over that with no problem.

Received the product and it is well made. I like the having the larger size pail 35qt as well. Couple of things to note if it helps anyone. It is tall and will always need to be pulled out to toss garbage. Although it does come with a handle i tend to simple use the top of the pail to slide it out (its the highest point and i don’t feel like bending if i have too. Maybe its an aversion to exercise or being lazy some might say 🙂 but because the brackets that hold the pail is not tight and snug on the pail it wiggles some as i slide it out. Kind of feels like the pail might pop out ) but it doesn’t. I would prefer that it would be a tighter fit to avoid the pail from being loose.

Rev-A-Shelf – RV-12KD-17C S – Single 35 Qt. Pull-Out Silver and Chrome Waste Container with Rear Basket : I am not a handy person (at all) and i installed this myself. I didn’t have a drill, so i just hammered a nail partially in the spots and screwed the rest of the way in. Make sure to leave enough room in the front for the handle. You don’t install it until last based on the instructions, and it adds to the length just a bit. Also, the slides on the bottom rack were partly stuck together so when i first tried to install it, it didn’t extend as far out. Because of this, i almost put holes in the bottom of my cabinet a little too close to the front, where the door wouldn’t shut all the way. I’ve been using for a couple weeks now. It’s great because i never have to touch the can when filling it. I sometimes use the handle, but most of the time i use my foot to slide it out.

The glide is so smooth and so convenient. We love this and are going to buy another one for our recycling. Cons: the instructions could be more descriptive with measurements. We had to add more spacers than were provided in order to attach it to the thickest part of the door (see photos) but we made it work. We didn’t realize it was an extra order or $25 to get the door mount kit (https://www. Com/gp/product/b000mf272w/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=utf8&psc=1). It took us about 30-45 minutes to install because we are perfectionists. Even though the instructions were annoying and that could be improved, i’m still rating it 5 starts because we love it so much.

if you want a large under your sink trash can with the ability to purchase a lid, a handle , ease of use and assembly, able to fit under a very deep sink with a basket in back for your trash bags this is the one. I had looked endlessly for one with all of the above features and am extremely pleased with this purchase. If you are looking for what i was searching for look no further.

This is the absolute best trash can ever. The rollers slide out and in perfectly. The handle folds up or down easily, there is a little basket that holds trash bags and i can buy the big pack with the 2 big rolls of trash bags and they both fit back there. The cabinet door really traps the smells inside so your kitchen doesn’t smell like trash anymore, and if you’re worried about your cabinet smelling icky, you can just open a box of baking soda and stick it close to the trash can. I will never display my trash can ever again.

I was tired of having a garage can sitting in my kitchen visible to everyone but it seemed like i couldn’t find a pullout can small enough for my 11′ cabinet. . I couldn’t be more excited that i found this full kit after months of research and searching. It slides smoothly and works like a charm, definitely worth it.

I tried the double container, but didn’t work due to pipes. I ordered the single one and it fits perfect. I just moved to a studio in nyc, needless to say, new yorkers are always looking out to save space. It’s great even if you don’t leave in a cramped apartment. I highly recommend you measure well and take into account the pipes as it will seriously reduce the space.

I like this shelf but found if very difficult to mount the basket (in fact decided not to for now). The very small screws that fasten the basket to the frame are preinstalled and must have been installed via a machine. Found it impossible to remove the screws with screwdriver and started to strip the head when attempting to unscrew with small battery operated drill. I’ll figure out an alternative way to mount the basket but am disappointed that could not do as proscribed in instructions. I suggest to the manufacturer to just ship the shelf screws – do not install them before shipment.

I almost skipped this one because they seem so expensive. We had a similar plastic tray and it finally wore out (or my wife ripped it out). This was very easy to install and i upgraded to the get the door mounts so the cabinet door now pulls straight out with the can. My family loves it and says its actually easier to use since the can slides out with the door in one motion. My wife is happy so that equals money well spent.

Everything went together quickly and works the way it should. The tray in back is good for replacement bags or whatever. I purchased this to replace a ‘two basket’ version i’ve had for years. I never left garbage inside long enough to use the second basket; plus, i wanted to use garbage space more efficiently.

1st thing i bought when i moved into condo, keeps garbage out of site. I recommend you also buy the door kit which allows you to pull out without opening cabinet door and then sliding out can. With door kit you just pull on door and it slides out.

This works fairly well for our needs. It loses one star due to the awkward installation. As part of that, the basket in the rear to hold the bags had the screws screwed into the base so you had to unscrew them, place the basket in place and then screw the basket in. Unfortunately the screws were tightly screwed into place that i only managed to get one one unscrewed so the basket just kinda hangs there from one screw. Would have been much better if these screws were just with the other hardware, rather than having to be removed and put back in place.

Very happy with this purchase. The roller mechanism is heavy and solid unlike my old white particle board roll out bins. This looks like it will last much longer probably forever. Very easy to install i unscrewed by old one put this in so that itwas butted against the front lip of the cabinet and drilled 8 holes 4 for each one as this unit is wider and the holed did not match up. Super easy few parts to put together. One of the easiest things to install and gives you great bang for the buck as you are always using the trash and recycle bins i also notice these trash/recycler bins are larger ie wider than the ones they replaced even though they easily fit into my space. Always wanted larger bins as they fill up so fast and now i have them don’t hesitate to buy these .

I installed this on one side of the double door cabinet under the kitchen sink. You need a drill and a screwdriver and about 15 minutes. Due to my double sink design, i had to set it at a slight angle in order to clear both the cabinet door frame and the drain pipe from the sink. We use the small wire basket attached behind the waste basket to hold a box of trash bags.

Rev-A-Shelf – RV-15KD-17C S – Double 27 Qt – The chrome finish looks great and the bottom glides smooth

My cabinet had a lip at the bottom-front so i had to put some folded cardboard under the rails to that the rails can extend out fully. Wish some triangular plastic ramps were provided instead of this mcgyver technique. Without this modification the rail only extended 12′ and i could only use one bin. The instructions are really bad, its just pictures. Someone spent a lot of time optimizing them and made them the hardest they needed to be. All i did was lay the rail and bin-try in the cabinet and mark out where the screws go in (bottom and door). Do this before you remove the door.

We have separate trash and recycling. This rack maximizes the usable space inside one of our kitchen cabinets. This is far more efficient and confenient than when we had two shorter containers under the kitchen sink. We were constantly emptying these and it wasted the storage space under the sink. It is pretty straight forward to install. I think it took me about an hour to install it, (including the time to remove what was in the cabinet previously. ) i highly recommend this rack with its two baskets.

I remodeled a kitchenette in a basement for a 80 year old grandmother. I bought and installed these for her as my gift to her. To show my appreciation for hiring me and being easy to work with. And for a little old gramma they should be the perfect size. One for garbage and one for recycles. The ‘clips’ are a little cheap and don’t have a solid click when they lock. And the directions say to be sure to face the clips outward ( common sense ) but the pictures show it the other way.

I should have got these a long time ago. A little pricey, but worth the convenience. Many apartments and houses are built with cabinets that are too small for conventional garbage cans, and the ones you can fit in are just too small. This solves all of that, with two bins that glide out oh-so smoothly on a high-quality bearing-lined track. Another tip for renters: rather than screw into the cabinet, i just used some 3m double-sided tape (the thick, sticky one known as ‘vhb’). That does the trick, and with no damage. The bottom mounting is also very convenient for me as i could not mount to the sides, there being no divider between doors in my cabinets. I highly recommend this purchase if you need to save space.

It works really well and does pretty much exactly what we expected (not really sure how you can be surprised by what this does if you ordered it). The only thing that’s a little bit of a bummer is that these aren’t super big trash cans, so they fill up quickly. That’s obviously not the company’s problem because they have to be able to fit under the cabinet. It’s more for anyone debating whether or not to stick with a regular, free-standing garbage can. The only other thing is that it feels a little pricey for basically 2 trash cans. But again, it works well and we knew the price when we got it so this does everything we had expected.

wow, was this easy to put in. I was actually a little scared, because this kind of project usually takes hours, what with measuring or having to install screws at weird angles or behind pieces of inconveniently placed metal, but i literally sat down with this and 10 minutes later it was installed. It’s also much sturdier than the custom cabinetry accessory it replaced. I love that it installs with screws to the base of the cabinet so that you don’t have downward force pulling on screws mounted to cabinet sides as with some other slide accessories. The chrome frame is simple and elegant, and i like the black containers, as they go well with a stainless steel kitchen. As someone else mentioned, the pull-out handle is a welcome addition. It not only means i don’t have to grab the side of the garbage can (not knowing what might be lurking at the top edge) to pull it out, but also because the handle is mounted at the frame and swivels, it eliminates the downward force applied to the slides which you get when you pull from the top of the can, which should make it last longer. One thing the images don’t make clear is that the handle moves. The image makes it look like it might be permanently sticking out from the frame, and i was nervous that might make it too deep so i couldn’t close the cabinet door, but it does rotate around the bar of the frame to which it is attached so you can just push it up against the side of the can and it doesn’t make the accessory any deeper (see video).

  • A cost-effective space-saver, with reasonably reduced capacity.
  • Hours of custom work saved!!
  • Much Improved Over Previous Versions!

Wish i bought this sooner, it fits perfectly in my cabinet and is exactly what i wanted. The only downside is that the bins are small, but for the small cabinet space that i have, and wanting 2 bins in the same spot, they have to be small. Even small, this was so worth it.Recommend the door kit as well, feels like a high-end cabinet that i got for fairly cheap.

This product is heavy weight (seems sturdy like it can handle some cabinet door slamming). It’s also ridiculously easy to install. The instructions did not tell me to drill holes into the plywood bottom of my cabinet, but i had to. Used a 3/8 drill bit and everything went in like a dream after that. I feel like a professional-ha. I also bought the door mounting brackets. That only slightly trickier to install, but just because you have to place the door so that it will hang exactly. It helps to have a 2nd person at that point, but not necessary due to the double sided tape that’s provided in the bracket kit. I’m very pleased with my under $100 (slider + brackets) trash upgrade and i enthusiastically recommend it to others.

Works very well, i have not had it long at all, but is exactly what i expected. Be aware it is small, i got the double 27 qt version, each bin is just under 7 gallons. As for mounting, i did not use the screws that it came with, i used 1′ cabinet screws and put 1 in each hole in the front centered in the slot, then 2 in each of the rear holes angled away from each other (yes you can fit 2 screws in each hole). I also have placed a 1/4′ mdf board on the bottom of the cabinet to repair the cabinet from water damage, so the screws actually go through 2 boards. With all this i could compact the trash really hard and it will withstand the pressure.

Easy to install under my kitchen sink. It fits perfectly under a standard ikea kitchen counter. I use one for garbage and one for recycling.

I’ve been using just a trash can in the (under the sink) cabinet for years and thought these installed versions were overrated. My husband installed it last night — it took him about 15 min from beginning to end. Saves floor space and because i have two cans, it makes it so much more convenient to recycle. Will be looking at other rev-a-shelf products. Definitely measure before ordering. We did not need to modify it.

The directions tell you to assemble it all the way then place it in the cabinet to screw down. You can’t reach over the side bars to the back of your cabinet, so i took the side bars off then screwed it to the bottom of the cabinet then put the sides back on. Ps use a hammer to gently tap the curved part of the brace into the hole.

I replaced a previous sliding unit i had for years that was still good but but just getting a bit worn out. This is a bit pricier than most but worth every penny. Heavier steel, two solid buckets and nice smooth rolling action on quality parts. I’m a pretty good diy person but i think even for a novice this would be an easy install ( i did it in about 15 minutes).

This is the third rev-a-shelf set i’ve bought (i keep coming back for more because it’s one of the only ones that will fit in my cabinet). The first two lasted just a 2-3 years each then got bent up and quit sliding properly. I am very happy to say the this latest version looks to be much higher quality. For starters, the metal is much heavier and this version has cross supports to maintain the proper distance between the two horizontal rails (the old version had two separate rails that tended to bend out away from each other and cause the basket rails to ‘jump the tracks’. Secondly, the new rails have really nice ball-bearing slides that are super-smooth and look to be fairly heavy duty. Finally, because the base is now one piece it’s much easier to install. Literally a minute or two with a cordless drill. Oh, and i like the the chrome and black look.

I had a whimpy little basket under the cabinet that was further hampered by a useless little shelf. I banged out the shelf and installed a double barrel slide out. I can fit a lot more trash and i use one for the nasty stuff that has to go out more often. No more using my foot as a trash compactor.Way install took me an extra 5 min to whack out the shelf i had.

Unit purchased: double 27-qt. Great, sturdy, heavy-duty product which makes use of the useless space behind your current garbage bin and keeps your garbage and recycling in one compact space. It fits as described, it’s very easy to install, and it’s very sturdy. The 27-qt bins fit regular large garbage bags quite nicely, with about 6 inches hanging on the sides. The sliding mechanism is very smooth and doesn’t make any noise. It’s not ‘soft close’ but it almost has the same feel. The only think i would warn you about is the kit to affix it to the door (sold separately). The instructions in the kit sold by rev-a-shelf are not written for the 27-qt unit, and the parts are not made for it either, so expect adjustments to have to be made.

Works as advertised and operates smoothly. The only knock against it is that it doesn’t pull out far enough to be able pull out the back container without first removing the front container without a bit of a struggle. It would also be better if there was some kind of hold down mechanism to keep bags from sliding into the containers when they start getting full, but that can be diy’d in various ways.

The pull out waste containers seems to be working great thus far but it’s been a few days since i have it. The installation process was fairly easy and did not take too much of my time. The one thing i am really disappointed about is that the waste canisters came in all scratched. One might say that it’s only a pull out garbage but if i pay then i expect the product to be in a perfect condition when it arrives at my doorsteps.

Installation is relatively easy with a drill, i had to take out the slide out holders to install rear screws. It was just easier, be careful taking them out they’re greased. These use all available space in my cabinets that they were designed for which is great. They slide easily, hold a decent amount of trash and seem to be very durable. Great for having one for trash and one for recycling. Would recommend to anyone, only con i could see is that sometimes its hard to take out trash bag of rear can. Maybe i installed them too far back?.

The chrome finish looks great and the bottom glides smooth. Great diy under sink trash containers. Make sure you use a leveler so it stays flush with the door. I added the door kit to make it a cabinet door pull out. No need to move or add another door knob.

Looking for a trash shelf kit that fit well and this was well worth the purchase. Tried one from bb&b and it wasn’t sturdy and the trash cans seemed cheap. The rails on this are strong and glide well. I did have to place wood under the rails to raise the height so it cleared the cabinet lip but that was an easy fix. Just check you measurements for proper fit.

I never thought i’d ever say this but i’m totally in love with this trashcan. I needed a setup for trash and recycling that i could hide from my dog. It was easy to install with the bracket fully assembled. The trashcans are the perfect size that we don’t have to empty daily. I love that you use a standard trash bag.

We just bought a new house and i swear, this is the best purchase we made so far. This roll-out trash solution fits perfectly in our standard sized cabinet, narrowly clearing the pipes that hang down under the sink and would have gotten in the way of other similar options i compared. We use one bin for trash and one for recycling, and they’re just the right size for our two-adult household. They fit a standard size 13-gallon trash bag (it’s a little big, but works fine) and keep the garbage out of sight while minimizing smell. We take the trash out about every other day, and the recycling weekly. They also make great use of what would otherwise be wasted cabinet space, and free up precious area in the kitchen.

Designed for a Cabinet that is 15″ width (B15) from outside to outside, with a 11-1/2″ or wider opening

Im a 58 year old widowed women and installed this in 30 minutes. I have a incredibly small kitchen and i now do not trip over my trash can nor do i have to see it. Truly this product makes my life easier and i was extremely blessed that the price was right and i did it myself a win win ferrrrr shurrr.

These rev-a-shelf hideway bins are a simple and smooth solution for those who want to hide the trash and take back some floorspace in the kitchen. It is a great solution because it hides both the look and the smell of a trashcan that sits on the floor. Getting the space back is worth any inconvenience of capacity. The slides move easily, without running all the way to the end and slamming to a stop, while the bins remain stable in their yoke while moving. Furthermore, it slides about 96% out so you can place items in the rear bin easily. This makes these a good choice if you do not produce copious amounts of trash. It fits easily into a standard cabinet, but measure carefully to prevent swearing. Also, if you empty three gallons of soda every day, or feed multiple teenagers, this may not be enough trash storage for you. In fact, my biggest concern was having my freedom to pollute the planet with trash restricted in any capacity. It seemed like a lot but doubts remained whether these would fit as much trash as a single canister.

Great addition to our kitchen. Was relatively easy to install and saved me hours of custom work needed to make a pull out garbage/recycling area. We also purchased the mounting brackets for the door and they worked very well for adjusting the door fit the space once mounted to the rack. I do wish that rev-a-shelf offered this in a self/soft close mechanism option, even if at a higher cost. Com/gp/product/b000mf272w?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_40.

This product was very easy to install. I had it in my cabinet in less than 30 minutes. I’m pretty handy when it comes to house projects, but this would be easy even for someone who isn’t. I was a little concerned with the size of the bins when i ordered this because my previous stand alone garbage can was much bigger. But it ended up not being a big issue at all. You can fit plenty of trash and recycling in both bins before you have to switch out the bags. It holds a lot of weight and stays in place without fail. Definitely would recommend this.

Great product, easy install, and works in undivided cabinets thanks to not needing to connect to walls. Very handy if you have the cabinet space, but lack in floor space.

It was easy to install, functions perfectly and is sturdy and oh so convenient. It is right up there near the top of my list of favorite things about our kitchen remodel project. I couldn’t be more pleased with this purchase.

From someone who originally had regular (non-soft close) version of this pull out, be aware that the rails are shorter. Based on my installation, i cannot install the rails out any further and the back pail cannot be removed without the front pail coming out first. I have no idea how they’re able to get the pull out extended so far in the picture, because that’s not what mine looks like. I’ll post pics later for reference. I love the soft close feature, but there’s this weird banging sound when closing of the lower rail hitting the front of the door. I can add a felt pad to soften the banging sound, but surprising that rev-a-shelf did not address this at the time of manufacturing.

Rev-A-Shelf – RV-814PB – Single 20 Qt : Functional But Not Perfect

I can’t believe what a positive difference installing 2 of these products has made in my kitchen. I have a small home with limited cupboard space, but these really helped me maximize my under the sink storage area. I was was able to fit two of these under an extremely cramped sink, and now i have two trash receptacles that are both hidden, yet really easy to access and remove. I tried another similar product (that i had to return) but this one really fits in tight areas, where the other competitor just could not. It is very well made and seems like it’ll last a long time. The bins are very slender & the clean bright white is modern and simple.

I opted for the door mounting kit in addition, for which i am glad. Without it, i could just see the inside of the door getting beat up from people not opening it far enough before pulling the can out. Plus without it, its a double move to discard trash, which sometimes is a challenge with full or messy hands. Installation can be trickier with older cabinets were the bottom may have sagged slightly, creating an non-level surface which may require shimming of the slide rails to achieve smooth operation as in my case. I’ve had it installed for about 8 months at the time i wrote this review and am totally satisfied. Quality bags can be tough to found locally, though lately i’ve been ordering these http://amzn. Com/b001jcvm6o (glad force flex 8 gal) w/ free prime shipping.

Every time i try pull the trash bin out it literally comes right out of the metal frame. You literally have to kinds of push the trash bin down while pulling out so it stays in place. Not many options this size so i’m kinda living with it for now.

There is no handle on this product so you have to pull on the trash can itself. When you do this, the trash can comes out of the base because it is not anchored in anyway. Would not purchase this product again. If it wasn’t already installed i would send it back. Installation was not easy either.

I give the product an a and the installation instructions an f. It’s a great 20qt garbage bin and slider for a fair price and installation is super easy once you figure it out. The instructions skip so many steps it’s pathetic. You do not need to drill pilot holes but you do need an electric screwdriver (phillips head), a pencil and a ruler. Here is how to install:1) do not cut the zip tie before you start2) place the frame on the bottom of the cabinet where you want it to go, at least 1/2 inch from the front of the cabinet and use the ruler to make sure it is perpendicular to the side wall of the cabinet. 3) trace the oval of the horizontal hole in each of the 4 slide legs. 4) now cut the zip tie and separate the frame from the slides. 5) take the right slide and place it exactly where it was before using the ovals you traced as a guide. 6) use an electric screwdriver to screw one floor screw through the rear slide leg at the horizontal hole. Re-align the slide using the oval you drew and screw a floor screw through the front slide leg at the horizontal hole.

I bought this for a customer and it was too big (my fault, i didn’t take the depth measurement),so instead of returning it, i put it in my house. I never wanted a roll out garbage in my home, now i can’t believe i didn’t put one in sooner. I love it and highly recommend it.

We needed something to work with the piping under the sink and this fit perfectly. Small enough to fit, but holds plenty of trash. Slides easily and removes easily for emptying. My only complaint is that you have to grab the top of the trash can to slide it out and that can get pretty gross. We added a small handle to the front (just a piece of pvc pipe) in order to grab it and pull it out without getting grimy hands.

Just the perfect size for my cabinet. I wish it had a handle though. Need to find the proper bags for it.

The instructions say 15 minute installation. This would have been true except i needed to rotate mine. The small screws that needed to be removed all stripped very badly although i was using a hand held screw driver. It took about 30 minutes just to get those out. All in all the rest of the installation was very easy and i am pleased with the outcome.

This shelf works as advertised, but it is rickety and the wheels do not roll smoothly. I also got the door adapter that allows you to use the door to roll in and out the shelf. The rolling shelf itself lacks a closing feature, and you need to push it all the way in for it to close. I know that’s a small gripe, but with so many great drawer accessories out there, this seems like a ’70s item. You would never find this shelf demonstrated in a home store or anywhere else, and i will be searching home stores to find a replacement that lives up to the standard of my rather normal kitchen. Then this thing goes directly into the trash.

– i got crazily configuration under the sink which wasted space. -got this item since you can install it either way (the wide side can face the front)-gave it a chacence and cut back side of the bucket and it works great, no issues for months now. -sister loved it and i got one for her as a gift 😁.

The size was perfect for under kitchen sink, as it cleared all drain pipes. Assembly was simple but if the base rails aren’t perfect, the can does not roll out easy. The biggest complaint is it’s durability. It may be due to a family member pushing the garbage down (compacting) but thats always been the case with my old 15 year old can assembly. I ordered another style with a different slide rails that seem more durable and have more travel to full open. It’s ok for light trash but not for a kitchen trash can.

This product was easy to install, with clear, simple, instruction. The device rolls smooth and without forcing it. There is minimal measuring, which helped with the ease of install.

This is definitely a product that you have to look online for help installing, which, is super inconvenient. I took off the zip ties before reading the instructions to ensure i had all of the parts and to get everything laid out. It tells you in the instructions to remove the zip ties after installing the floor screws. The pictures were a little unclear as to which way the rack is supposed to go, so i originally installed the floor rails backwards before watching some youtube videos and realizing my mistake. I had trouble installing because i didn’t understand the instructions so that’s partly my fault. After installation, i’m expecting it to do its job and that’s keep my trash can out of sight while also allowing me easy access to it if needed.

This seemed like a good solution for our small kitchen, i’d give it five stars if the frame was sturdier. I adapted it with some cable ties to hold the brackets for the can, which pull out of their holders when you remove the can. Also, if your cabinet floor is not level – mine is warped from a water leak- it’s hard to get the install right. Having said all that, it’s a good idea.

There are few things i hate more than seeing a trash can in the middle of a well-appointed kitchen. It truly ruins the aesthetic. I purchased this to fit in a very narrow cabinet and it fits perfectly. It was extremely easy to install – my boyfriend did so in about 1/2 hour, including charging the screw gun. Please remember to get the inside measurement before ordering. I previously ordered the larger size that i thought would fit, but i was off less than 1/2 inch because i didn’t take this into account. Am extremely pleased with this purchase and will be buying more items such as this to finish off my kitchen.

I don’t want to be one of those people that marks down a product that effects the rating because i didn’t fully pay attention to the description so i gave it a neutral 3. The truth is i sent this unit back when i got it and saw how tiny it is. I based my purchase on the photo and i think they use that one photo for every one of their products. Either that or that cabinet is from a dollhouse. I’m not saying to not buy this but the photo doesn’t match the real item so don’t make the same mistake i did. Make sure it truly is the size you want based on the description and not the picture.

Rev-A-Shelf – RV-814PB – Single 20 Qt. Pull-Out White Waste Container with Adjustable Frame : I live in an apartment complex where we have valet trash but there’s nowhere to put their trash can and i learned that they will take trash out from cans that aren’t theirs. So i ordered this to fit perfectly under my sink. It’s been installed about two months now and it still glides really well. I put it in width ways instead of depth, due to how my pipes run under the sink. However, due to this one if the metal bars that holds the trashcan in place comes loose if i pull/push the trashcan too fast which is a quick fix just pop it back in. However because of that i won’t give it 4 or 5 stars. Still super useful otherwise.

It’s pretty good: not the most sturdily-built device, and it may not last a whole lot of years, but it does the job. However, if you do buy this, then as soon as you open the package, burn the instructions. They were written by someone who apparently has never actually seen the product. They are misleading, leave out critical information, and are just plain wrong. Installation should take you about five minutes with a pencil, a ruler, and a power screwdriver–unless you try to follow the instructions, in which case it will take you about an hour.

This is the only sliding shelf i found that might fit in my cabinet. It was very easy to install, which is good. The only problem i have is that you have to pull the can all the way out of the cabinet to take the filled bag out. I have to lift the top part that holds the can off the sliding track and hold it with my leg until i empty the trash. It’s just a tad short to bring the garbage can all the way out of the cabinet enough to pull the filled bag out. And before you ask, yes, it was installed as close as possible to the door so it would still close. It was really my only option so it will do.

The idea is a great one but the design missed out somehow the can tends to tip a bit and sometimes sticks as it is pulled out. The motion of pulling the can out should be smoother and it should glide, not pull and tug and tip.

It’s really weird that rev-a-shelf doesn’t have a lid option for this size – even despite the numerous complaints. The sliding function of the frame hasn’t loosened up, and i’ve added wd40, but it’s still stiff. So especially for this reason it would be nice if there were a handle. Will try some diy suggestions other reviewers suggested. Pleased that it fits under my sink, though.

It’s so quite close to perfect, but it falls short a little. . I have a tiny row house and need to fit two cans in a kitchen island so i knew i had my work cutout for methese were slim enough, but my beef lies around the following:- really wish there was a pull out handle as their 35qt model. I believe this would help stabilize the can and make the pull out more smoothly. – the can rails are really loose and don’t have any way to thightem them, so the can tends to left out of place when you pull them out. – it was not an issue for me, but mine came without the installation template – i had a flat pack install the units, and he said it was no problem. All in all i got what i paid for. It fit perfectly where i wanted it. I will just have to find a way to secure the can so it will come one easier.

I needed something that would fit in my little kitchen under my sink beside all my pipes. I just couldn’t find one with a lid. And when it’s full, i can smell my garbage when i pass by the kitchen 🙁 if i could buy a lid separately for this, i totally would. Preferably a lid with a string or chain that can be attached to the back of the cabinet so that the lid automatically raises when you open the trash can.

The shelf is an easy way to make the waste basket easy to access and still be out of sight. I would have preferred to be able to install it as in the perpendicular to the door but with drain pipes and garbage disposal, i had to install it parallel to the door. It can be a bit tipsy pulling it out, but is sure saves room on the kitchen floor and it is, again, out of sight.

Rev-A-Shelf – RV-18KD-18C S – Double 35 Qt : Adore these trash bins!!!

I have been looking into options for storing my garbage container and this product fill my needs. I have limited space in my kitchen and being able to place this into an unused cabinet is great. The product comes with two very sturdy garbage cans that can be easily removed so they can be empties. The product came with easy to follow instructions to put it together and i was able to complete the project in just over an hour. The track moves easily in and out of the cabinet. The other aspect of the system that i like is that it has a handle that you grab to pull the containers out of the cabinet. I will be looking into other products made by this company to help me make my kitchen cabinets more useful. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking to store their garbage cans within a kitchen cabinet.

We just moved into our new home, and i really love it, but i missed my underneath cabinet trash & recycling drawer. I found this and it was here in 2 days. It installed easily and works great, sliding smoothly and fits perfectly. But i knocked off one star because 1) no screws were included and 2) the handle (pictured) was included but there were no instructions for installation, it couldn’t install as shown as the clips were too big, it wouldn’t have fit anyway if i wanted to close the cabinet.

One bigger size and the next size down. I then purchased the door bracket to have one handle for easy access. We’re still in the process of the remodel but it’s coming together. I will buy rev a shelf items in the future.

If you have the cabinet space this is well worth the investment. I didn’t realize it but the garbage cans are nearly twice the size of our previous under the sink can (using the same bags) so now we can empty the garbage every two or three days instead of every day. I love being able to have recyclables right next to the garbage. The mechanism is incredibly sturdy and much higher quality than what’s pictured. The installation was a breeze with no swearing whatsoever. I couldn’t recommend this highly enough.

This was the best addition to my kitchen so far. We have a kitchen that doesn’t have a convenient place for the garbage or recyclables. Prior to installing this, we had a stand up garbage can that kept banging into the cabinets (and 3 kids creates enough damage as it is) and we had a bag on a door knob for the recyclables – what a drag. Now, it’s all in one place, easy to get to and the right size to reduce taking out the trash/recylables enough to not make it an annoyance but also enough to ensure no smell comes out the cabinet 🙂 super easy 4 screw install. Looking forward to our next rev-a-shelf purchase for our super skinny cabinets to finally make them functional too.

Why oh why have i not done this sooner????. I cannot tell you how great these are. We kept out trash can in the pantry for the last seven years. I came across these gems and cannot tell you how much i adore the trash being put away. My husband was able to install them with no issue by himself. Do make note the height of the unit. We placed these under our cabinet that houses the sink and didn’t account for the sink drainage pipes. We found two shorter trash bins at a local hardware store, but they aren’t near the quality of the bins that come with this unit.

We had ordered this for under the sink, but it was just slightly too wide. We were able to use in a different cabinet though. So far (a couple months) this has held up well. The cans are slightly smaller than a traditional kitchen can, but it hasn’t been inconvenient. This works very well to keep children or animals out of the garbage or just to keep it out of sight. The cans lift out separately too making emptying easier.

This thing is rock solid and buttery smooth. If you decide you want to add lift-up lids, just make sure you watch the spacing when you install, or the can in the back won’t come out far enough for you to open/close (the lid). I may have made that mistake for all of you in order to save you all the trouble.

It super easy to install, glides nicely, and two cans is a must for a family. The cans are not full sized cans. I’d say they fill a garbage bag to about 70%. I use the rear one for non yucky items so when the front bag is full, i remove the front bag and finish filling the front bag with stuff from the rear. It was a really great purchase. If you don’t have room for a garbage can or just want to have it hidden, this is a great solution.

I have had this unit previously, although with green and white cans. The old unit i had came with lids. I was not aware that this one did not, although that’s not technically the fault of the unit, as the picture does not show lids. This comes with a lifetime warranty, but mine only lasted 3 years. I do have six children who are hard on things, though.

Good product, just as advertised and a great use of cabinet space. Beware that it allows for absolutely zero clearance to accommodate any ‘lip’ on the bottom edge of the installed cabinet. Out cabinets had bout a 1/16′ smaller front than the cabinet interiorand i had to shim the rail assembly up to allow the sliders to clear. No big deal, but seems like the assembly should allow for what, i’m sure, is a very common occurrence. $50-$75 would be a much more reasonable price for what you get, but i knew that when i made the decision to purchase.

I was looking for something to organize my laundry room double doored cabinet. One that was a disaster with odd socks, cleaning rags and hidden odds and ends. The kind of cupboard where you open the doors and stand back because you know something is going to fall at your feet. Not a pleasant admission for a neat freak. It was essential to get organized. These bins serve so many purposes. All told, i now have 4 bins (two double binned pull-outs). One for odd socks, one for dirty laundry, one for rags and now one for garbage, which was previously on the floor next to our dryer. The best part, it’s all hidden but still easily accessible. The bins are heavy duty and the slide outs are very sturdy and slide out smoothly with ease.

Rev-A-Shelf – RV-18KD-18C S – Double 35 Qt. Pull-Out Black and Chrome Waste Container : This trash shelf system replaced the bulky trash can we previously had in the kitchen. I thought, for sure, that i would be unhappy with the size, but it has worked out nicely. I take out the trash at about the same frequency as before so no worries there. The advantage is that we save space and the trash is out of sight.

It gives a much more polished look and removes the step of opening the door first before pulling out the bins (and, the potential for causing damage if you try to close the door without pushing the pullout all the way back in).

speed of delivery ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ quality of the product ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⏰ minus one star because only time will telll.

We purchased this after moving into a new house. We had the home depot brand one at our old house which i also installed. These are cheaper, bigger, and better quality. The bins themselves are thicker than the others. The track is a lot smoother, and the fold down handle makes pulling them out a piece of cake. The old one we had you just pulled on the front bin itself and it would tip out every other time. This handle is a revelation. The most difficult part of our install was removing the built in shelf in the cabinet. But as far as this product, it took less than 15 minutes to assemble and install. We love it and are very happy with our purchase.

Anything rev-a-shelf worth purchasing just redid whole kitchen installed r-a-s in every base cabinet, pantry and slide out for tray over fridge great product.

Great and easy to install product. I got tired of having the trash and recycling cans in the pantry. Everything seems to be heavy and solid quality so i’m happy about that. But the reviews led me in the right direction and i’m so glad i bought it. The only thing i worry about is the weight of the cans if we don’t empty it soon enough. But the cans being a little smaller prob help encourage that so whatever. It’s weird to be this excited over a trash can but i am haha.

This pull-out garbage can / recycling bin combo is perfect. It is exactly as advertised – fits perfectly under my sink cabinet. It’s very easy to install – only took about 5 minutes and didn’t even require any measuring. Just connect two pieces, put under your cabinet, and screw in through the 4 holes. I had a similar model from rev-a-shelf in my last apartment and loved it so decided to upgrade to a larger 2-container size and i love it.

Very easy to asemble, fits perfectly in my cabinate. The material seems very durable and the size of the bins are perfect. The bottom rolling part of the frame is very durable and sturdy, slides in and out with ease. Only concern i had while asembling it was regarding the “frame” around the bins holding the bins in place as well as the handle. You just clip/push them together in place. I was worried about it falling off after a while of use and me needing to put it together again. But nothing of the sorts has happened yet. I’ve been using it for a little while now and its fine. Great way to hide your carbage and keep your kitchen looking neat.

Just received this, pulled out a shelf and installed it by myself. The product seems well made. And i love not having a trash can out in the open in my kitchen.

The company installing our kitchen included a unit with a single trash can, from the same company, with our order. We felt it was a waste of space, so we ordered this one, and the mounting brackets to attach the door, so pulling the door pulls out the trash can. The reason for only three stars is that i believe that as far as convenience goes, this is not a complete unit. You absolutely need the mounting brackets.

This product, the pull-out sliding rack and garbage containers are great. I also bought the brackets to mount the cabinet door, and they ended up working well, but they were just **barely** able to reach the cabinet door edges. They need to reach the edges because the screws would go all the way through the thinner middle part. 5′ apart, and this was the most you can possibly go. It does work, and this was able to be aligned/adjusted quite flexibly, and it was a great conversion.

Rev-A-Shelf – 53WC-2150SCDM-217 – Double 50 Qt : Love this. I’m careful not to push down on

Worked well, easy open and close.

We installed this while we were redoing our cabinets and it is awesome.

Makes a huge difference in our kitchen. And best of all makes recycling rubbish so easy.

Slightly taller than i envisioned but they hold much more than i originally expected.

This was pretty easy to install (comes with a template) and works great. Instructions are pretty clear. Seems the critical point is to ensure the unit/model you buy is pretty much the exact right fit for your cabinet. In my experience, having first bought a side mount model, is there there is a bit more leeway with respect to the size of the cabinet with the floor mount models. I couldn’t make the side mount model work.

Well, it worked great for almost two months, but in the last week the closing mechanism has weakened and it stopped fully closing. Something has changed in the mechanism that draws it back. I guess i should return it, but not looking forward to the whole hassle and process of taking the old one out, shipping it, and then installing a new one. Update: i processed a return and a new unit arrived in just a couple days. After installing the new unit, so far it works perfectly. One thing to note is that i did install it a bit farther back into the cavity, so that if the ‘draw back’ mechanism does weaken a bit, it may still be able to pull it flush to the cabinet opening by virtue of sitting farther back in the cavity. If this new unit holds up over time, i will update my rating to 4 or 5 stars.

Awesome shelf and trash cans. Just make sure to measure your cabinet opening for the height of the trash cans + a few extra inches. Mine rubbed against the bottom of a piece of wood inside my cabinet, which i had to remove to fit it. Great size and smooth rails, the soft close works perfectly.

I’m careful not to push down on it now. Because my cabinets are particle board on the bottom i remounted with extra screws to a plywood base instead of going directly into the particle board. So nice not having an ugly trash can in the kitchen. Also enjoying the double capacity a lot.

  • I wanted to clarify that it would fit this cabinet size comfortably with a liner in and the lid on
  • I wish a had done this a long time ago
  • Easy to install and the self close feature is nice

Stumbled across these and thought i would give them a try, works wonderfull they are the only ones i buy now.

My husband installed this and it looks great.

This kit is nothing short of awesome. I toyed with building my own but, by the time i priced everything out, it just wasn’t worth the time. This one also looks great, which would not be guaranteed with my own effort. It really does only take a few minutes to assemble. I should divulge that i was building my own cabinet so it wasn’t difficult to install at all. I was slightly concerned about the fact that there is a fair amount of leverage between the pull out hinges and the handle on the front of the door but it really is a non-issue. I built my door out of 3/4 inch material with this in mind and i don’t think using only 1/2 inch would have been a problem. I agonized over getting the single or the double and am quite happy that i chose the double. I was initially going to use the second can for storing garbage bags etc. But, taking the garbage out half as often was more appealing.

I was surprised how nice this was, the soft close works perfectly. Getting the door attached using the instructions was overly complicated, just use more double sided tape, hold the door where you want it, stick it on, then screw it in.

I love the soft close and the quality is great. If you think this is going to take the 15-20 min they claim you are mistaken. This is a tough, long project. Do yourself a favor and go to home depot and get better screws, the ones they provide are too short and poor quality. Once we got this in it works great.

Bought this to replace a one-bin rev-a-shelf that was in the house when we bought it. Our cabinet is full size with no drawer above and the one-bin unit was short and made for a cabinet that would have a drawer above it, so it was underutilizing the space to begin with. Plus, we needed a recycling bin also. This was easy to install, it’s very sturdy, and it has the soft-close feature, which is awesome. We could not be happier with this.

Easy to install, did it without my husbands help.

Finally got rid of the trash compactor i had never used and put this in the space.

Just wanted to leave a review that this larger version will definitely fit an 18 inch base cabinet with a 15 inch opening. Based on varying dimensions i saw when i was deciding whether or not this size would work for us, i wanted to clarify that it would fit this cabinet size comfortably with a liner in and the lid on. We even stillhave space to run conduit up the inside of this cabinet and install an outlet. Installation was easy, it took us less than an hour (and we updated a left opening door to make the front pull out version. ) the provided directions aren’t stellar, but you can figure out pretty easily what isn’t covered in them.

Easy to install and works perfectly.

Worked great , easy install.

We haven’t had our counters installed yet, but we love the trash can drawer. I had them at my last house custom made, but i prefer this mounting kit and the item better overall. It contains the cans, bracket, and slides. Some online stores sell them all separately. The y’all cans are much better than the half can size that have a cabinet drawer above them. Now we have one for recycling and one for trash. It’s my fav feature of our new cabinets, haha.

Very easy to install, took my husband about a half hour (with no cussing, deep sighs or growling ). It closes snugly, as anyone with soft close hardware is familiar with. But no worries my red heeler mix had it figured out in less than a week :-(. Cost about as much as two kitchen size trash cans, which we has before (1 for garbage, 1 for recycling ) but none of the clutter. We used the remaining space in the top of the cabinet to put a shelf where we hold our trash bags.

Have bought a couple of these over the years. This time it was for my brother’s new house. Like these and very functional.

Love the soft close slides and the large size of the trash cans. Installation was fairly easy, but i need to remove a crossbar in my cabinet to accommodate 1/4′ clearance.

Easy to install and the self close feature is nice. Being a cabinetmaker this is a high quality product that should be considered. The most difficult part will be the door attachment. You can use double sided tape if needed. I just lined up the door, pilot hole, then attached. There is plenty of adjustment to line up the door to give proper margin.

Comes with a template for locating screws.

Fantastic product easily installed and works like a charm.

So glad to have proper pull out cans.

Unit works great and is ready to install if you have the slightest bit of assembly know how. The only true issue i have with this is that the slides are not full extension. This prevents me from being able to put a lid on both of the waste containers or being able to remove the back container without removing the front container first.

I would definitely purchase this again as it has worked like a charm for us. My husband installed it after taking out an old trash compactor and it is larger, easier to keep clean and rolls so smoothly. The only thing i would change is the fact that we’ve needed this for about eight years. Wish we’d done it a lot sooner.

Very adjustable and includes extra hardware for adjustments as well. The perfect size trashcan as well.

It works really well both at home and at camp.

The double set of receptacles is exactly what i was looking for, installation was simple, item is well built, slides smoothly and is even quite simple to remove the upper platform.

Easy to install and very smooth operation. I recommend this to anyone and i would buy it again.

We’ve used this for dog food storage for a few months now and it seems to be holding the weight well.

I don’t like that the trash cans do not have any kind of separation between the two cans. They tend to wobble and it’s hard to put liners in them. Other than that, for the price weight and usage. These work much better than the trash compactor they replaced.

Rev-A-Shelf – RV-35-LID-17-1 – 35 Qt – Expensive but fits

Fits perfect and works great.

The bins came without covers, so this makes it what i expected–a bin with a cover. Fits well and it of good construction.

This lid itself does it job. It fits onto the unit which came with my rev a shelf product and opens and closes fine. The 3 star review is simply because of the price point. $15 for a trash can lid makes me feel like i’ve been violated, but because i knew it would fit the canister i went ahead and did it. In the end i’ll be glad i did, but i’m certainly bitter about it. I also wish it fit the trash can a little better. I was expecting it to snap on or have some or mechanism which secured it to the container to some degree. It just sits on top of it like any other trash can lid.

Works great on out trash can just wish it didn’t cost so much.

Perfect lid for garbage under sink. Keeps odors out, and don’t have to look at garbage.

This is a well-made, solid product that stands up to rugged usage. It does appear a bit pricey, but we’ve had ours for over a year and it shows no sign of wear and tear. I’ve owned pricier units in the past that cracked or loosened in shorter periods of time, but i don’t think this will. It also does a good job sealing the can to lessen (and usually completely hide) the smell of our garbage.

  • Little pricey but good quality lid.
  • Should be bundled with the garbage. Not seperate
  • Green for recycling?

These were the best priced lids i could find. They work well for what they are designed to do. It would be nice if they snapped into place, but they serve their purpose.

Perfectly fits my rev-a-shelf trash bin. But bit on expensive side just for the lid we are spending money , ideally shouldn’t it be included in the trash bin purchase.

Definitely needed for in cabinet trash can. Shocked at the price for just a cover but is twice as much on the manufacturer website. Our trash was making the cabinet smell. Cannot use in the back can though as the lid cannot open.

Fits the top of my rev-a-shelf trash can perfectly. Haven’t had any failure of the plastic lid components – especially that it’s opened many times daily. Have had mine for 6 months now. I like that it helps keep odors locked inside the trash can.

The lid pops off pretty easily when bumped, but not with simply regular use. I like being able to close my garbage when it’s in the rev-a-shelf drawer system.

Installed this in a 24′ cabinet and fit great. Installation took a while loner than anticipated since i mounted the door directly to the sliding shelf. I purchased the shelves from lowes and the lids from amazon.

Perfect fit for a rev-a-shelf trash can that came without lid. Fits snugly and holds trash bag in place. Like the color; it matches pretty closely with gray can. Holds odors in so they don’t permeate through cabinet.

Let me just start out by saying i’m glad i bought this lid and it seems like it is very durable and will last us for a long time. That being said i wish it was spring loaded or better yet, was a no slam lid. There’s no frills about this thing. Just a regular open and shut lid that goes on a great trash can system. I guess i expected just a little more for the price. Seems like two lids should come instead of just one. Four stars for durability and i got exactly what i asked for. Extra bit of advice when installing the sliding trashcan system that goes with this. Is to make sure that you clear the drawer above where the lid is going to open. I didn’t account for this and had to install twice.

Purchased with the waste container. For a few bucks more it should be included with it.

I am so happy about these lids. They fit inside the rim firmly. They don’t snap on but they are still snug fitting. Put your trashbag in the can then push the lid on. They don’t come out after lifting the lid to put trash in.

I bought this one and a black one for the dual pull out i installed. I thought it was better to get to keep the smell contained and not to attract bugs and also to distinguish my trash from recycling. First off, they are awfully expensive for trash can lids. Secondly, the lids work fine unless you have the double unit as i do in which case the lid to the waste container in the back can not be opened because it is stopped by the top of the cabinet as the unit does not pull out far enough for the second one to avoid it. Instead you just end up lifting the entire lid up to throw the trash in rather than use the lift up part of the lid. After receiving it, i also decided it was kind of a pain to have the extra step of opening the trash can to throw out the trash. (here i installed the unit to the cabinet door so that i didn’t have the extra step of opening the cabinet then pulling out the drawer so why would i now want to lift the lid up?)so, i don’t use the lids and i find it easier to just make sure we throw the trash out every night.

(1) Silver 35 quart waste container lid

Perfect for hidden trash/recycling storage. Make sure you install the pull out drawer right up to the front of the cabinet so that the lids will open all the way when you pull out and won’t interfere with the knob in the pullout drawer above.

It works just fine but could be better quality.

I revamped my kitchen, installed the sliding pull-out unit for two 35qt waste bins. I use the silver one for recyclables and the black for regular refuse. Also purchased lids for both. Slightly expensive but worth the money. Sooo convenient and nothing standing around on the kitchen floor taking up space.

But no springs or something, designed to put over garbage bag around rim.

Bought to retrofit an itouchless deodorizer touch-free sensor 13-gallon automatic stainless-steel trash can. Fits perfectly into the rim that holds the bag in.

These should be designed to open on the side, because the average depth cupboard isn’t big enough to mount this so you can extend it fully and open the lid of the back can without hitting the drawer above it. We ended up cutting out the door.

Fits all Rev-A-Shelf 35 quart waste containers

I’ve never been so excited about waste containers. We just bought a double-pull out rev-a-shelf for our new apartment, and we love it. It fits in our cabinet perfectly, including the lids. The lids are well-made and install easily (they just sit inside the opening on the top – no snaps). My biggest source of confusion is why green?. In both california and oregon, the standard color coding is: – black – landfill – blue – bottles and cans (recycle) – green – compost/yard wastethis is how people are used to sorting their waste here. If this was blue, everyone would know exactly what it’s for intuitively. We could have it be the front unit in our pull-out. As it is, even with the little recycling emblem embossed on the top, it’s not obvious to people who haven’t seen it before. My roommates moved the green unit to the back (even though we recycle most of our waste) because guests wouldn’t see the recycling emblem and would presume the front one is trash.

Fits perfectly and makes it easy to access. Seems as though it should be cheaper, when you compare it to the trash can. Anyway, i’m pleased with it. I can’t imagine having the little critters begin to appear with an open trash can.

The rev-a-shelf products are amazing. Just outfitted my kitchen with 4 different ones. The waste basket is my favorite, but i was dissappointed to find that it didn’t come with a lid. The price of the lid alone is almost as much as the entire product. But it’s the only solution to having a covered waste basket.

The lid is great since i hate an open garbage but i think it should come with the garbage when ordered. Not sure why you have to order it separately.

Like a previous reviewer, i found the lid expensive and with my double unit it doesn’t pull out far enough to get the lid off. So i removed the cover from the lid casing and just use the casing to mark the recycling as green. Good quality if it fits your cabinet?.

The only reason these didn’t get a 5 was price. And why is the smaller lid more than the larger?. I had bought custom cabinets from lowes and wanted lids for the trash cans but they could not find them. I stumbled across these looking for something else on amazon. They are the same brand and a perfect fit, go figure. The cabinet purchase was a nightmare. Lowes did their best to help out but i can not recommend diamond cabinets.

Rev-A-Shelf – RV-35-LID-G-1 – 35 Qt, Fits well and reduces odors

So glad to find this here on amazon. My kitchen guys put in the pull-out but never got around to getting my lids. I finally did this for myself (along with the green one).

Cover sold separately for $20.

Comments from buyers

“Fits great and looks great on the new rev-a-shelf system, These should be designed to open on the side, , Smell blocker yeah”

Perfect fit for the under cabinet trash can i got. Made well not cheap but this was a bit pricey and if you want the black one it costs nearly twice as much.

Had a 2 trash can system installed one for recycling one for trash neither came with a lid needless to say the trash stunk so out i go in search of a lid. Lightbulb moment ‘check amazon’ fast & easy. Lid works great keeps the smell in the can.

We separate our trash from cans and paper,,. We separate our trash from cans and paper,,we decided to use the green so ones could tell the difference,,,you know ,,no dummy the green one,,,.

Perfect fit for a rev-a-shelf trash can that came without lid. Fits snugly and holds trash bag in place. Like the color; it matches pretty closely with gray can. Holds odors in so they don’t permeate through cabinet.

Fits great and looks great on the new rev-a-shelf system. Lid fits nicely on top of the can. It’s not a ‘snap’ in fit, it just fits over the can so don’t expect a super tight fit. Nice though for the garbage can which can lead to smells or even just mess stuff.

Fits well and reduces odors. This lid fits the rev-a-shelf waste containers perfectly. It does not snap in place, but it is a snug enough fit that it will hold the trash bag in place. It is easy to open, easy to remove when you need to take out the trash, and only adds a couple of inches to the overall height. Best of all, it does a fantastic job containing trash odors and keeping the kitchen smelling fresh. If your cabinet is under a drawer with protruding hardware, make sure you install the frame far enough forward that your lid on the rear container will open without hitting the knob on the drawer above.

Bought them never used them, they are cumbersome and hard to use with 2 bins side by side.

I bought these to go with my dual pull out trash can unit. I got them to help keep the smell of the trash under control and to help keep the bags in place. I thought they snapped on, but they do not, they just sit on top of the cans. So i wasn’t to pleased with that because if you lift them wrong they fall off. Also, with the dual rev-a-shelf unit, you cant lift the back one all the way because the shelf doesn’t pull out far enough and the lid hits the countertop. I don’t mind the lid hitting the counter top because it opens far enough i can squeeze stuff in, so i use the back can for paper and stuff that i am putting in with my hands and i use the front one for emptying plates. My main complaint is that they don’t snap on, for the price that is what i was expecting. I wouldn’t mind them just sitting on there if i hadn’t paid so much for them.

Excellent product – well designed and better quality than kv. . I was not crazy about having to buy the lids as an accessory, and i was worried the lids would make the two cans fit too tightly together, and they wouldn’t sit right. But i just received them, and they were designed perfectly so the outer dimension was not increased at all. They look great, and work the same. Side note: i had originally purchased a k&v (knape & vogt) system that didn’t include the handle. And their customer service was a nightmare. I’m so glad i went with rev-a-shelf. Would definitely recommend their products.

I am very pleased with my rev-a-shelf gear for a slide out from under the cabinet set of 2 garbage cans.

The most needed addition to a garbage can. I have had this lid on my garbage can for almost 2 years now. I use garbage bags to put into my can and with this lid i can wait until my bag is full to take it out to the dumpster. This lid is a ‘smell’ saver. I have just purchased this lid for another garbage can. But i forgot to order the garbage can that came with it. I thought they came as a pair. So i am having to complete my order to get the garbage can.

With special positioning, works well for our needs. Fits our rev-a-shelf trashcan as expected and it’s easy to open (we store dog food in this pull out system bin). Does not ‘lock’ to our trashcan, however, we had hoped it would be more airtight. Also it wouldn’t work for us on the rear position can; unless we put it in the forward position of the two cans on the rev-a-shelf track, the lid won’t clear the drawer above.

I am so happy about these lids. They fit inside the rim firmly. They don’t snap on but they are still snug fitting. Put your trashbag in the can then push the lid on. They don’t come out after lifting the lid to put trash in.

Lid slips out easily while lifting the flap. The lid doesnt fit very well, it comes out very easily while trying to lift the flap. It serves my purpose though.

I purchased the silver lid just to brighten up the black bin. The whole setup of the rev a shelf with bin works extremely well. The 35 qt bin is a great size and the lid totally finishes it off. I recommend it but personally think the rev a shelf 35 qt bin should come with a lid. I don’t think you should have to purchase it separately. None the less the lid is great and fits really well.

I have four rev a shelf wastecans in the kitchen; each pull out drawer holds two cans, so a total of 4: 1 is trash, 2 are recycling, 1 is dog food. I got lids for the trash and dog food bins and i am so glad i did. I don’t have to look at my nasty kitchen trash each time i open the drawer and any odors are contained. The dog food is kept fresh with the lid and my dog doesn’t hover around the drawer now when i open it. My kitchen feels tidier now.
