simplehuman Profile Step Trash Can : Very nice. Peddle is easy to use and lid falls

And this one work beautifully. Want to get a trashcan that will fit into a very tight space in my bathroom, and this one work beautifully. It’s simple, it’s functional, it’s well built. I just use those regular plastic bag i get from grocery shopping. Love the fact that there is a removable inner bin. I take the inner bin out, hook the plastic bag’s handles around the two hooks on the side (the bag’s secure and won’t shift position), and put the inner bin back into the trashcan. You can see just a little bit of the plastic bag from the outside; it’s not noticeable.

My old trash can was way too big for my room space and this fits just fine. Willing to sacrifice a little capacity if it. Smaller than i expected but it does the job right. My old trash can was way too big for my room space and this fits just fine. Willing to sacrifice a little capacity if it means the actual trash can fits.

Nice-looking, but the lid is lightweight. A nice looking small steel trashcan, much cheaper than the all-stainless models. I got this trashcan to try to contain the smell of used cat-litter. Turns out the lid closes tightly enough to serve that purpose (contain smells), but plastic lid is too lightweight to close all the way on its own– it sits “almost” closed and needs tap on the top to actually close tightly. I inspected several of these trashcans at a local store, and found they all closed that same way (so it’s not a problem with just mine). The lid also will not stay up unless your foot is on the pedal. Most foot-operated trashcans will “lock” in place, which would be useful during litter scooping. Disposable plastic grocery bags mostly fit as liners. The handle loops on the bags keep the bag from falling in, although the bags from giant (washington dc area chain) barely fit, and smaller bags from safeway and petsmart do not fit at all. Bags from target (which are larger than the average grocery store bag) seem to fit better.

It came with a package of plastic bags that just fit right in and i don’t really have to change the bag each time but just empty it out when it gets full. Also, you don’t have to step on the foot pedal to open it if you are sitting. Just open the lid with your hand and throw in whatever you want. The last one i had was almost impossible to open without stepping on the foot pedal. It also looks very nice and just fits in my small space beside the toilet.

I’ve been using this trash can in my kitchen for a few months and have no complaints. It has a good weight to it; it doesn’t fly up in the air when you push the pedal like a lighter one would. The pedal has a nice action and the lid doesn’t slam shut. It’s the perfect size for putting the bags down the trash chute, if that applies to you. I try not to put food waste in it, so can’t really speak for how well it contains smells. I still haven’t found the right alternative bags for this though – the branded bags included are great, but i consider them too expensive.

The soft close is excellent compared to the other cans i’ve owned. It opens slowly too, no hard flip open like the others. The mechanism on those failed way too soon. I think this one is going to last a long time. Fingerprint proof stainless steel is great too.Comes with a starter pack of bags made to fit.

Have a little problem with store bought liners but not really a problem.

Nice stainless steel trash can. The trash can is very nice and easy to clean, but it is very small. This type of trash can should be used in a bathroom or bedroom. It is too small for a kitchen, unless of course you are living in a studio apartment and do not have space then this would work, but you would have to take the trash out frequently. The trash can is quality made and can be used easily with grocery bags. There are hooks on the sides of the plastic insert can for the grocery bags to hang. If you are looking for other bags to place inside you can get them at bath and beyond. They are called simplehuman size “r” 10 litre, and 20 bags comes in one pack. The bags have a draw string to close up the trash and are about $5.

I love this as my diaper garbage. It’s small enough that it fits well in my apartment nursery. But plenty big to hold plenty of diapers. Who wants to keep a bunch of dirty diapers around for that long anyway?. I didn’t want anything bigger or to spend a ton of money of a fancy diaper bin. I also like that when i’m done with diapers, this will be great in a bathroom or office. I love that i can put regular grocery bags in it. Keeps the smell out good enough. Especially since it is smaller so by the time it is full the diapers aren’t rotting away.

I have it in my bathroom and it’s a huge step up in style and function from the one i used to have. The only reason i am not rating this a 5-star product is that it came with a small dent on the lid.

This one is so much better than the black top one. The auto close lid is so worth the extra ten bucks. I bought both for my boys rooms, and wish i had purchased two of the auto close. Love that i can use plastic bags from the grocery store to line the cans, no problem. I spray them out with lysol spray at least a couple times a week.

So i purchased this trash can and have foiled her plans. I no longer have to pick up her mess and she’s very perplexed about it. :)i like the design and materials used in this product. The lid comes down very nice and softly. I will be using regular, small trash bags, though – the simplehuman bags are a tad to expensive to use all the time. The small, commercial trash bags work just fine.
