UNNI ASTM6400 Certified 100% Compostable Bags : Reasonable price

Stand up to hundreds of elementary students each day. We use these in our elementary school cafeteria and they work great. They keep our compost buckets clean and help us to set a good example by not wasting plastic bags.

Beware that after about a week these bags start to disintegrate in our little “organics” container. (i keep a little “organics” container in the kitchen and empty that out into the large “green can” when this little bag is full; if it doesn’t fill up fast enough to be emptied out, this bag starts to disintegrate).

Much better than biobag brand i’ve purchased over the years.

The only issue i have is these bags are quite thin and do not hold the weight of the compost if filled beyond 50% of its size. Since i change bags every other day, in most cases this is not an issue.

  • Great bags, i will buy again
  • The waste bags are well constructed
  • Hold up well, keep food odors well-contained

Affordable and good quality. I reordered these bags because they are the perfect size, good quality and cheaper than purchasing them in a store. It’s so nice to have a large supply so i don’t have to buy them as often.

Works very well in our city recycling program.

So much better for the environment and the bags are sturdy.

Works very well in our city recycling program.

Really good quality product. Does not rip like other brands.

Compostable and priced right. On a roll that is perforated and comes in a compostable box that is compact. I’ve just received my second order and intend to purchase more.

Much better than biobag brand i’ve purchased over the years.

They are an excellent price. My city just added compost collection to our weekly services. These bags fit the provided compost caddy well and they have the required bpi certification. They are an excellent price.

Hold up well, keep food odors well-contained. These bags hold up well, haven’t leaked or split, and have kept any smells well-contained. Of course, we don’t keep compost n the small bins inside for very long, they get moved to the outside bins fairly quickly and picked up by city recycling trucks weekly — but the fact that the raccoon haven’t come for them the way they used to come for the regular garbage bins before our city initiated composting says something about how well these bags control odors, i suspect. I only wish that they were a little easier to tie off, but it’s a very minor issue.

Do not have much experience with other brands to compare, but the only complaint is that they don’t hold up well if trying to fill the compost pale. So just have to make a habit to empty at 75% full.

These feel slightly thinner than ‘normal’ (non-compostable) trash bags, but we haven’t had any issues with rips yet. They work just fine to keep our compost bin under the sink from getting totally nasty. We just wipe the inside of the bin with a paper towel to remove condensation after we take the bag out to the green waste bin.

Good but you can buy a box for $2 cheaper. Good but you can buy a box for $2 cheaper at costco. These bags also break very easily so double bagging is needed.

5 liter step-pedal trash can. Since it’s compostable i can put it in the greenwaste cart, bag and all. (it also helps keep the cart cleaner. ) been using them for several years and have never had one tear or break. It does form condensation between the bag and the can’s plastic liner. I wipe it out and air dry a bit before replacing a new bag.

No breaks or leaks as i have experienced with competitor products.

Great bags, i will buy again. They are thin (as expected) but hold their content well. If you are composting sticks they will puncture easily but if it’s food scraps and other plant trimmings, these are great.

Good sturdy bags at a budget cost. The reality of compost bags are that they are thin and moisture does seep out onto the compost bin. Because the box totals 100 bags and for the (reasonable) cost, i tend to use a few more bags (per week) and make it point of not over stuffing the bags to prevent ripping. Otherwise, these bags are sturdy (assuming you don’t overstuff them).
