Full Circle Scrap Happy Scrap Collector and Freezer Compost Bin : Small Trash Bin by Your Stove :)

Instead of throwing this in the freezer when i have added to it, i hang it on the inside threshold of my chicken coop. My chickens love the plate scrapings and veggie peels. And yes, i throw it in the dishwasher when the girls have emptied it. I will be purchasing a second one in the near future so one can be in the kitchen while the other one is in the coop. When it comes in from the coop, i just rinse it out and throw it in the dishwasher. So much easier to use/clean than the chicken feeders on the market.

If you want to recycle your organic. If you want to recycle your organic waste such as fruit peels, egg shells and the like, throw them in this and freeze it.Even when i really packed it down and filed it to the max, frozen solid it popped right out with a tap on the button and washes off quite easily.

But it was easy to put back in place. This fits inside my trash can and i use it to collect food scraps for my compost pile. Unweary house guests have accidentally pushed it down (thinking it was just trash sticking up out of the bin), but it was easy to put back in place. It is pretty durable and fits my needs well. It was small than i expected, but typically it is not full until the trash bag is full, so that is not really an issue.

We have ordered this item before. We use it in the bedrooms to put the remote controls in for easy locating. We have one headboard that is metal and we can hang it on there. The other bedroom has a wood frame around the mattress/boxspring and we hang it on that. Can also be used when a child is sick or even to throw soiled tissues in. One customer questioned the color: it is medium gray.

  • Wire rim attaches to drawer to easily scoop scraps off your counter or cutting board
  • Easy to empty, simply invert and press on bottom
  • Dishwasher and freezer safe

I do not have a garbage disposal, so putting this on the edge of the sink when washing dishes is super helpful. Or when chopping veggies i can free up more real estate on the cutting board as i go. I like the soft silicone because it can easy wiggle it’s way into my freezer and there is no issue with having a hard time getting the frozen goods/ ice block out when i go to the compost.

I was looking for a tiny wastebasket to use on my kitchen island (garbage can is inconveniently located too far away) when i stumbled on this. I line it with a plastic bag and hook it on the cabinet while i am making breakfasts and lunches and then it tucks right away when i am done. It has been super useful and i use it everyday.

I bought this because i used one at a friend’s house. It’s extremely handy to have for several reasons. While it doesn’t fit over the saddle between my two sinks (it might on another sink), it does fit snugly over a drawer, so you can position it where you are cutting or peeling or chopping and scrape the leavings right into it. I like that it can go in the freezer too, so that potentially smelly scraps can be placed in the freezer until it’s convenient to take it out to the compost bin or trash. It’s made of a supple material and is easy to clean.

Small trash bin by your stove :). I use mine more as a small trash collector. I have mine next to the stove for eggshells and anything else i may want to toss quickly. Also, i line it with a plastic produce bag so that it doesn’t get grimy and dirty. Not only this, but using this as a small trash can, i end up using my large kitchen trash bag as a bin for my smaller produce-bag-wrapped trash bags (and/or trash items that don’t have a smell). This means my large trash can usually doesn’t smell bad, since it’s only ever full of smaller wrapped trash bags. Maybe it seems a little strange, but for someone who usually only cooks for one, i don’t like my large trashcan to be partially full and already smell like it needs to be taken out.

I looked and looked for the right scrap bin. I love that it doesn’t take up precious counter space. You can freeze it and it comes out easily. This is great when the gnats are bad. No matter how hard you try those little bugs will find their way into all scrap bins. The only thing that is just a bit of a negative is the size, it is a tad small, but if it were deeper or much bigger it would get in the way of cabinets and you most likely. There are some days i just have to walk to the compost bin more than once when i am doing a lot of cooking, but if you use all of your vegetable scraps, you won’t have much to throw out anyways. I am so glad i chose this one.

Genuine Joe GJO57258 Recycling Rectangular Container : Fantastic price, super fast shipping, well made!

This is a much better shape, in my kitchen. This is a much better shape, in my kitchen, to be used beside my lidded garbage can, than the lower-height “laundry-basket” shaped recycling bin whose “foot print” was really an obstacle to quick and easy use. Somebody should be thanked for having a really good idea when they conceived of a tall and narrow recycling bin.

Strong, sturdy, lightweight and inexpensive. Bought this to replace a regular size kitchen trash can we have been using for recycling since our city recently started the program. Holds plenty, reducing trips to the recycling bin in the alley by 4 or 5 trips. Now it’s easy for guests to see where to place recyclables. I’ve been asked where i purchased it from and cannot believe the price.

Fantastic price, super fast shipping, well made. What’s there to say about a recycling container?. But i can say that it’s about half the cost of the rubbermaid brand and others that look similar at home depot and lowe’s. It appears to be well made, and both times i’ve ordered one it has arrived in about 24 hours. The shipping cost is also much lower than most websites, and that’s coming from the seller, not amazon. I don’t understand the comments about the logo. It’s a recycling container – no big deal – it’s just the companies name.

Perfect size- we have it under the can crusher- tall. Perfect size- we have it under the can crusher- tall enough to hold a lot. Narrow enough that it doesn’t create a problem reaching the crusher or walking around it.

  • Perfect size- we have it under the can crusher- tall

  • Nice height and length but wish depth was more

Genuine Joe GJO57258 Recycling Rectangular Container, 28 gallon Capacity, 22-1/2″ Width x 30″ Height x 11″ Depth, Blue

Quality – afunctionality – avalue – a.

Very sturdy, and slim enough for purpose. It is attractive, very sturdy, and slim enough for purpose. It can accommodate a 30 gallon bag that folds over several inches past the opening. Because it is tall it is a little hard to pull the bag out if you are not tall (i am 5’6″.

Nice height and length but wish depth was more. Nice sturdy bin, appears to be made of the same heavy plastic that our county’s recycling bins are made of. This is a bit too ‘slim’, as we can’t take our shredder bin and dump it into this – this bin is about 1″ too narrow for that, thus one star off the rating. Otherwise it is a nice size. Height comfortable for use and narrow enough that it doesn’t get in the way. We use it with the slotted lid.

The dimensions are of the inside of the container (at the top), not of the container itself. I had 20″ to fit 2 trash cans, and i purchased 2 of these and they have to stack on each other slightly. I could probably cut off part of each of them, but i don’t care enough.

Perfect for my recycling needs. Nice and neat, heavy duty, fits the husky 30 gal blue bags, slim profile fits well into it’s allotted spot. Very happy with the purchase.

These are heavy duty trashcans that fit in tight spaces. Same manufacturer also makes bags for this odd size.

Suncast Recycle Bin Kit BH183PK : Excellent option for outdoor recycling storage.

I can walk in the kitchen now. I purchased this for my girlfriend who is a recycling nazi. Our small kitchen was looking pretty junky with the amount of recycling we had stashed in plastic bags that had itself been reused. These recycling bins were perfect for our needs. I leave them on the back porch. I was worried about the size of the containers, and was concerned they would be to small for our needs. If they were to small, that would mean frequent trips to the recycling center. However, these are quite large, and can actually hold more then are trash bags we were using. Each lid has a flap that you can pull open, and it will stay until you are done with it. This comes in handy when i am juggling the recyclables.

Kinda cheap, in all respects. . First off this was super-cheap. The lids don’t open and close right, the hinges are plastic, molded with the lid itself, and are not very smooth to operate. You kind of feel like you’re breaking them every time. When i got them today, i actually thought they were put together wrong, they were so inflexible, noisy and un-smooth in operation. Plastic is on the thin side too, which makes it not terribly sturdy when stacked. But the bins were substantially cheaper than the equivalent product out there, and overall it’s hard to complain at this price point. If i had to do it over again, i’d buy something higher quality, and would have spent a little more.

Great for pop cans and bottles. As “pop” drinking oregonians, my family uses these recycling bins for our bottles and cans. We then take the cans and bottles to a recycling depot. We use the yellow bin for plastic bottles, the green bin for aluminum cans, and the blue bin for glass (blue recycling containers are always for glass where we live). We use special green plastic bags (the same size as a standard drawstring 13-gal trash bag, just green and labeled with a barcode instead of white), fill up the bags, and just turn in a whole bag all at once to the recycling depot. The workers there count it for us and credit our account with our refund. The green bags are wonderful, and they fit well into these bins if you are careful. I do have to remove a 90% full bag from the bin in order to fill it the last little bit, especially for cans, but that’s not a big deal. The bins are easy to clean–and stay even cleaner when lined with a plastic bag.

Very sturdy – i bought them again. I bought these a few years ago and i had to buy them again because they disappeared. They are sturdy enough to put at the curb (except for that disappearance thing) and do not get broken when the recycling people throw them around. They also look good enough to bring into the house – in the mud room. They are large and easy to use and stack really well. They are easy to carry out to the curb and a better size and shape than a round barrel. And they cost about half what i paid about 4 years ago.

  • but they do a good enough job keeping bugs and mice out
  • Great for pop cans and bottles!
  • Happy with my purchase

Was a great pet food storage option – until the lid cracked and collapsed. . Update: i loved this for the first six months. But they can’t hold more than about 30 pounds all together because the plastic lids crack and then collapse under the combined weight. I stored 30 pounds of dog food in the bottom one, 15 pounds of cat food in the middle one, and maybe 10 pounds of miscellaneous parret food and supplies in the top one. The bottom lid cracked in several places and collapsed, under the combined 35 total pound weight of the containers above. I gorilla glued it and reinforced with duct tape, then reinforced the other lids as well. It’s not pretty but until i can find something better, it should work. Original review: we’re using these for pet food storage. Each bin holds about 50 pounds of pet food. With 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 parrots we needed one go-to spot for all the different pet foods.

These bins by suncast are a pretty neat deal. I bought them for my wife because she is really into recycling (i’d rather just throw most of that stuff away – nothing against recycling, but it’s just easier and cleaner having once place for all trash). I really like how these are stackable and accessible through the lift lids. They can hold quite a bit of content, but i’d kind of like the openings to be slightly bigger. Although we would prefer other colors, they still look much better than the big plastic tubs she was using before – and they’re easier to access. I would recommend these bins if you’re looking for a recycling bin (or a set of bins) that takes very little square footage due to the vertical stacking design.

But they do a good enough job keeping bugs and mice out. I use these to separate my different dry chicken, dog and cat foods in the garage. I have them stacked 2 high rather than 3, because it is easier to unstack them in order to refill if they are only 2 high. I do wish they were a tad bit sturdier, but they work well enough. The lids do not hold much weight at all, so you will need to be careful about putting heavy things on the top of any free standing one. Weight will cause the hinge in the middle of the lid to bend the wrong way and make it less airtight since the plastic wont go back the way it is supposed to. They are not completely airtight, as i mentioned, but they do a good enough job keeping bugs and mice out.

We are all supposed to do it, but getting the tools to do it right can be expensive. These bins from suncast are affordable and perfect. They stack nicely in the kitchen and each can open without moving the one above. I line them with large black trash sacks. When they are full, i take off the lid and remove the trash bag and replace it with another. The bins stay clean and ready to use again. When i originally started the recycling endeavor i placed the bins in the order of the weight of the products. I have since rearranged my bins to have the cans on the top since it is what we fill up the fastest.

Excellent option for outdoor recycling storage. . Our city recently decided to stop accepting glass in the curb side recycling (arg), so we needed to buy bins to store glass until we could take it to the central recycling facility ourselves. Because we would be storing for several weeks and outside, i wanted something that would be water-tight and weather-proof. I was very pleased with the weight of these bins – they are sturdy and do not bow or deform even when loaded with lots of glass. The lids are also nice and they “snap” open so that you do not have to hold them open to put things in the bins. They will keep the rain out 100%. The only thing that i wish is that the colors were toned down — these are very bright (just as they appear in the photo) and so they don’t look the greatest sitting out front. I saw that some people had bought these to store dog food – i personally would not use them for that purpose as they are not totally air-tight.

I bought these in the hopes of getting my kids to recycle more and reduce the amount of trash we were throwing out every day. I wanted bins that stacked nicely but also closed when not in use. The fact they each bin was a different color was definitely a plus because i could just assign a color to each type of recyclable. I wanted to put the bins on my back porch so that they weren’t taking us space in the house. Right after buying them the weather really allowed me to test whether they actually stay dry or not. My hope was since they closed and appeared to seal somewhat they would for the most part stay dry. The first day they were out there it rained all day. We found that the rain collected heavily on top of each lid so when you opened the lid that water all ran inside. We also found that water did collect a little at the bottom.
